I let out a painful scream as another whip lashes my back. I spew out blood. It was a trap. The Wen Clan ambushed us. I was the only one who lived through, though now I believe that being dead is mercy now. These whips are sharp and cut through my soft flesh like butter.

I've been here for a month and every minute I'm in pain. These people treat me like an animal.  Killing me is too gracious for them. This is far worse than death. I grip my fists. I can't do much about escaping. My hands were shackled. My ankles were shackled. My neck was shackled.

A man grabs me. He lifts my head up. He punches me in the face. I wince. His hands had brasses on them. Metal claws that pierce and slice. I throw up blood. He lifts my head up.

"Wei Wuxian, you are going to wish you were dead." He says.

"I think we're already there." I mutter.

Another whip lashes my back. I scream again.

I wake up in a startle. Sweat pours down my face. My friend pats my shoulder. I hate falling asleep sometimes. All I see is the pain I've felt for three years. I look at my arm. It turns demonic again. Gray. Scales were forming on it. Claws were growing. Spikes were growing on my upper arm. I let out a breath. I sit up. I pull my hood back up.

I don't want to scare the nice couple with my arm. My friend sits on top my hand. I pull him back in the black cloth. I need to leave. I'm full and warm. The blizzard has passed. I need to find the Yin Iron. I walk out of the hut. The Yin Iron will be my final move before Lotus Pier will fall.
