Sophie

Sophie missed the target by a hair. She went to retrieve the arrow while cursing herself for being so clumsy. Anyone else would've been happy with the results but knowing she was the Black Swan's best agent left no room for making stupid mistakes.

She lined up her aim but this time with three arrows to make up for her last shot. She gazed at the target with narrowed eyes and laser beam focus and let go. This time the arrows didn't just hit the mark but went right through and met the target behind. She smirked to herself and flicked her hair over her shoulders, done with training.

She returned to her room, content and stepped in the shower. She didn't know how long she stood there but she loved the feel of the cold water trickling down her back and onto her legs. Many wondered why she bathed in the frigid water but she refused to tell them because the truth was, she shouldn't be afraid of warm water but she was and it was pathetic. It reminded her of harsh times.

-Flashback-

Young Sophie in the car with her parents and her baby sister, Amy.

Sophie was in her mother's lap and giggled when her mom softly tickled her.

Her dad looked over to where she was sitting with an amused expression, "Did you like that, Soybean?" he questioned with a smile. When Sophie nodded, he took one hand off the steering wheel and tickled her foot. It was only for a second but that's all it takes for disaster to strike.

The car swerved right, and rammed into a another car. They both toppled over and her families screams were the last thing that came out of her families' mouths.

~Time Skip~

She groaned while climbing out of the rubble, freezing when she could see straight. There were her families bodies, bloody and bruised. She raced over as fast as she could but she knew before she got there. They were dead. She touched there bodies, praying that she was wrong but the only thing she got from that was their blood on her hands. Fresh and warm.

She faintly heard sirens and stiffened. Would they think that this was her fault? Where would they send her, to a foster home or worse to jail, for causing this? This fears ran through Sophie's head as she made the decision that would change the course of her life. She ran and ran until a man by the name of Mr. Forkle found her and introduced her to the Black Swan.

-Flashback ends-

She knew it was dumb but warm water reminded her of the blood from her families bodies and besides, cold water numbed her from the pains that she had suffered.

She finally stepped out, scanning the room as she put on black leggings and a red tank top. Her eyes stopped on an award. The first award she received from the black swan. On it in big letters read, for completing your first mission. In smaller letters underneath read, Agent Moonlark. She smiled to herself recalling when she first received it. She was so happy, finally feeling like she had a purpose in the world. If only that little girl could see her now, with dozens of other trophies and the black swan's best agent.

She snapped out of her trance when the P.A system buzzed. "Agent Moonlark, please report to the meeting room." She straightened with excitement. It had been weeks since she had been assigned a mission. She practically ran all the way and only stopped when she arrived at the silvers the doors.

She knocked and the doors opened with a loud creak. She looked at the collective and with a raised eyebrow she said, "We really need to get that oiled."

Mr. Forkle rubbed his forehead, probably adding that to the list of the other bajillion things he needed to do and replied, "Yes, I suppose we do but that is not why I called you hear today." He paused and Sophie stood there for a good few minutes before she asked, "Are you gonna tell me or do I have to guess?" Before he could respond she exclaimed, "Maybe that's a better idea! Hmmmmm, let me see, you want me to assassinate the prime minister? No? Ok, you want me to track down the kids that keep egging your house for apparently being to annoying?" Mr. Forkle turned red when Granite (or Tiergan) let out a chuckle.

"Enough!" He shouted, embarrassed, before mumbling something about "you kids" and taking a deep breath to regain his composure. "We called you here to inform you about a new mission."

779 words!
