Sophie

"We called you here to inform you about a new mission."

Sophie's eyes widened in excitement and she was almost jumping with joy. The collective smiled softly at her reaction. They knew how much she liked being chosen.

"We have gotten word, that the Neverseen have been posing as high school teachers and killing and kidnapping innocent kids," He continued slowly. Sophie narrowed her eyes, she knew there was a "but" coming. "But," Mr. Forkle said which made her smile before he paused as if contemplating whether to continue. When he continued Sophie's smile quickly disappeared because what he said next made her heart drop.

"Because you can't just walk in there with a gun and kill all the teachers, you must pose as a high school student and find your targets."

Sophie froze and it was quiet for a few seconds before she burst. "You expect me to go to high school, while I've already completed University." She knew that wouldn't matter and in fact, it would just make it easier but she really didn't want to go to school with people her age. She shuddered just thinking about it.

Squall saw this and gently said, "We know you're uncomfortable with it and because of that we wouldn't send you if it wasn't necessary. But you're our only agent that fits the age range, therefore the only one capable of carrying out this mission."

Sophie knew that and she also knew they wouldn't have chosen her if they could send someone else. The black swan might be annoying but they weren't mean which is probably why she found herself grumbling a reluctant "fine."

The collective visibly relaxed and shot her grateful smiles. She straightened up while Blur recounted the details of the mission. "The Neverseen seem to be attacking kids of government officials, which is why we think that their next target will be the Vacker siblings so keep an eye on them." He stopped there which confused Sophie but she waited for him to continue.

When it was clear that he had finished, her jaw dropped. She never had to do a mission with such little information.

Upon seeing her reaction, Granite chuckled and commented, "That was my reaction at first too. Never has the government given us so little but we got to work with what we have. And we have no doubt that if anyone can do it it's you."

Sophie blushed at the compliment. It was just what she needed and it gave her the confidence to ask "When will I be going?" With that question, Mr. Forkle smiled and replied, "Tomorrow."
