Confessions On The Edge (Soukoku)

Dazai silently stood on the rooftops edge, staring down at the busy streets of Yokohama before looking up at the soft oranges and pinks of the sunset. "Such a beautiful way to go out." Dazai muttered, his usual smirk now replaced with an empty frown. Before he could take a step off, the roof top door slammed over and Chuuya ran out. "Shitty Dazai! The fuck do you think you're doing?!" He yelled, storming over to Dazai and grabbing his arm. Chuuya's angry expression falters slightly seeing how serious Dazai now was. "Just thinking how this is a beautiful way to go out Chibi. Why are you here?" Dazai replied, his tone weirdly happy despite the empty look on his face. "Well obviously I came to watch! You wouldn't dare to do it! All your other attempts, people could save you from, but nobody can save you from this one, so you wouldn't do it shitty Dazai!" Chuuya yelled back.

"The sunset is beautiful. I want to make one just as beautiful for you Chibi." Dazai muttered. "Oh shut it suicidal maniac! You haven't found your 'dream woman' to commit a double suicide with! So you won't do it!"
"I love you Chibi. Why haven't you realised that."
"Shut up shitty Dazai! You're speaking nonsense, you always go on about your dream woman, no way can you suddenly like me! And anyway, why would I like some suicidal maniac?!"
"I'll make the sunset beautiful for you Chibi. I promise. I love you." Dazai whispered, before pulling his arm from Chuuya's grip and stepping off the roof edge.

He smiled feeling the wind rush through his hair, his empty look replaced with one of content and happiness. Dazai could feel himself approaching the ground, when it stopped. Dazai opened his eyes, his expression changing to one of shock seeing Chuuya using his gravity manipulation to keep him in the air. "WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING SHITTY DAZAI?!" Chuuya screamed, pulling Dazai back onto the ledge.

Dazai noticed the few tears in Chuuya's eyes and the hint of worry hidden in his expression. "Awww! Was my Chibi worried about me?" Dazai teased.
"It's not the time to tease me! And no, I was not worried shitty Dazai! I only saved you because I didn't want the blame for your death!" Chuuya shouted.
"Ok hat-rack. So, if I left a note saying that I killed myself and it wasn't your fault, would you let me jump?" Dazai questioned, his smirk growing seeing Chuuya's expression fade into slight worry.
"Shut it shitty Dazai. You're not jumping, that's final. Now sit." Chuuya instructed.

Dazai looked confused, but sat down nonetheless. Chuuya sat beside him, running a hand through his hair as he let out a sigh of relief. Dazai looked down at the angry ginger beside him, smiling as he took note of Chuuya's appearance. The way his orange hair blew in the wind, a few strands falling into his face. How his eyes glimmered a mix of blue and yellow when the sunlight hit them, taking in the small hints of care and love in his eyes. Dazai couldn't help but let his smile grow.
"You look beautiful Chibi. I wish you didn't hate me as much as you do though." Dazai muttered, assuming that Chuuya couldn't hear him.
"I don't hate you shitty Dazai. You just mess with my temper." Chuuya replied, his voice much calmer compared to before.

The two chatted on the rooftop edge for another 30 minutes, the sky slowly growing into a mixture of blues, blacks and purples, small glistening stars lighting up the sky. Moonlight highlighted the two lovers, shining over their face as they talked.
"The moon is beautiful, isn't it?" Chuuya said. Dazai's eyes glimmered with a slight hope and he locks eyes with Chuuya.
"Were you just saying that, or do you know what it means?
"Obviously I know what it means Dazai." Chuuya replied, a soft smile spreading across his face as he leans closer to Dazai.

Dazai took Chuuya into his arms, one hand on Chuuya's cheek, the other running through his hair. Chuuya lightly cupped Dazai's face, before leaning in and softly kissing the other. The two shared a passionate kiss under the moon light, hands in each other's hair and arms around each other. "I love you Chuuya." Dazai whispered, met with a "I love you too shitty Dazai." From Chuuya.
