Why couldn't she stop thinking about him? It was driving Aurora crazy. She was constantly wondering what he was thinking, what he was doing, even who he was seeing.
It had been a while since Aurora had a crush. She almost forgot what the feeling of butterflies swirling in her stomach felt like.
"You're not still laying over there thinking about him are you?" Giovanna giggled as she looked over at Aurora, who laid on her bed just staring off into space.
"No I– I'm just– okay, maybe." Aurora murmured.
She couldn't even come up with a good enough reason for just staring at the ceiling. Giovanna was right; she was still thinking about him.
"It's just that the last time we hung out, he said that he would call and he hasn't yet," she looked at her fingers. "Almost two days have gone by and I have yet to hear anything from him."
Maybe he hadn't liked her as much as she had thought he did. But from Aurora's point of view, it had seemed he was just as into her as she was into him.
"UUUUGFHFHGF I HATE BOYS!!" Aurora screamed into her pillow. "Why do they have to be so confusing and weird?" She asked aloud, to no one in particular.
"Because Aurora, they aren't as emotionally in-depth as women are," proclaimed Giovanna. "We overthink and assess the little things. Don't worry he'll call. I'm sure of it." She smiled optimistically.
Aurora hoped that Giovanna was right and that Grant would call her soon. She liked how he made her feel and just his demeanor overal.
Just the other day, Grant and Aurora met up at Sun Valley's library to just talk about their favorite art history novels. He even brought her favorite weird combo she mentioned the first day they met— Oreos and orange juice. She was surprised he even remembered the small detail.
He had been so sweet and attentive to her. All Grant wanted was to know what interests Aurora and how she interpretes art.
No one had ever really been invested like that with Aurora before. I mean, there had been guys in the past but they were all the same.
All the men that ever came into Aurora's life just wanted to fuck around or they wanted to experience what it was like being with a bigger girl.
But with Grant it was different, he had made her feel seen. Aurora liked that, she wanted to feel that way always. Especially when it came to her relationships.
Giovanna watched as Aurora was moping on her bed and felt bad that Grant hadn't called her back yet. She sent a text over to Bo telling him to pull through with some snacks.
She wanted Aurora to get out of this funk and thought that having some of her closest friends around would cheer her up and take her mind off things.
Bo arrived in less than 20 minutes. He was all for sitting around and talking shit about boys.
He knew from his personal experiences that sitting around in a funk was not the way to go, especially when you were pinning after a man.
Unbeknownst to Aurora, Bo marched right into the room and yelled "ALL RIGHT BITCHES LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED!!" He shouted at the top of his lungs.
This shocked Aurora because she had not expected to see him, but in all honesty, she was glad he was there.
She had missed seeing his tall lanky self hanging around. Plus, she had always thought that Bo had beautiful almond shaped chocolate brown eyes that looked like they were wise beyond their years.
So, when Bo proceeded to pull her off the bed to come dance with him; she couldn't resist. She liked having him distract her from her pondering thoughts.
