So... turns out I get unmotivated when I get requests... 🧍‍♂️I'll probably be writing more cuz I got a new phone, my last one froze every second lol.

This is a Lucy x Y/n one-shot, with Poe as Lucy's protective older brother. Also It's set in... Victorian era? Idk tbh, just set in an older time. Srry if Lucy isnt written well, its my first time writing her. Hope y'all enjoy.

Poe was in his room. Reorganizing his notes for a case he's working on belongside a friend, Ranpo. He was about to reach for another paper, but heard something.

A muffled noise coming from his sister, Lucy's room.

Poe's mind runs with different thoughts.

Perhaps one of the servants were going into her room.

He stands up, exits his room, and creeps over near Lucy's door. To listen to what would be making those noises.

But it's too muffled for him to fully hear. There's definitely another person in there with her though...

Poe's mind races again. It could be anything.

Perhaps the man she intends to marry? A suitor? A friend? No. Of course not.

Whoever is in there with Lucy, is obviously a danger to her. He pushes open the door to Lucy's room, and makes his way inside.

Inside the room Lucy is standing in front of her vanity. With Y/n, her "boyfriend," helping her tie her corset.

Poe's teeth clench, as his fists ball up. He makes his way over towards the pair. A calm voice leaves his lips, though his eyes are filled with rage. "What are you doing to my sister?" Poe demanded.

The look on Y/n's face shifts from shock to understanding. He smiles, and takes his hands of Lucy's corset. They both face Poe. "I'm about to marry her, as you can see," He tells Poe. "She's going to be my wife." He smiles.

Poe's eyes go from Y/n to Lucy, and back to Y/n.

"You can't. You don't deserve her. You'll make her unhappy," Poe tells him, ignoring the fact that Lucy could make a decision for herself.

In Poe's eyes, he was simply trying to protect Lucy. He looks at Lucy, unsure if she wants to marry this man or not.

Y/n frowns. Looking down at Lucy, who also has a small frown on her lips. Before looking back at Poe. "Just because I'm lower class doesn't mean I'll make her unhappy. I love her, and she loves me." He defended himself.

Poe's anger grew at Y/n's words. How did a lower class citizen get his hands on Lucy? She was born into a fine, wealthy family. She shouldn't be marrying this peasant! He looks over at her. "Are you sure you want to marry him?" Poe asked her, hoping she answers him with a no.

Lucy smiles up at Y/n, her chest filling with an excited feeling. Her heart fluttered and skipped a beat. Then looking at her brother. "Oh, yes, brother. I want to marry Y/n. I want to be with him forever." Lucy said. All she could focus on was her fiancé, and how happy they would be together.

Poe's chest became tight. He couldn't believe this, his sister is falling in love with a poor man. A peasant. "I don't want you to marry him," Poe says with a scowl. "You're going to be happier with a wealthier man. A Prince, or someone with influence. You can't live such a humble life!" Poe argued.

Lucy laughed at Poe's words. She had never seen her brother so desperate to get his way before. Her love for Y/n was too strong to be stopped. "I don't want a Prince. I'm far happier with Y/n."

She looked up at Poe, who she considered her most precious family member. "I love him too much to marry another. I don't care who he is, whether he's poor or wealthy, I want to marry him. I love him," Lucy spoke, her words honest and true.

Poe's eyes narrow as he listens to Lucy speak. She was throwing away her family, her blood. Was this man really worth it? Poe glances at Y/n, who is silent, for a moment, his gaze hardening "You don't really mean that. You can't! I forbid you to marry this man." Poe yelled.

Lucy's face filled with a frown as she walked over to Poe. "Please, brother. I don't want a wealthy marriage. I'm far happier with Y/n than a wealthy Prince, or someone with influence-" Lucy starts.

But is cut off by Y/n stepping in her way. "I won't let my wife be yelled at by her own brother." Y/n says sternly, a protective look in his eyes. Poe stares up at Y/n with a look of hatred.

"Do you think you can boss around a noble?" Poe yelled back at Y/n, ignoring his sister's protests.

Even she knew Poe was in the wrong. His face was red with anger, but Y/n's protective stance didn't bother him. If anything, it made him want to strike the peasant harder. He takes a step back, looking down at his sister.

"Are you really falling for this peasant?!" Poe yelled, again, ignoring Lucy's pleas.

Lucy's face was filled with disappointment. She knew how wrong Poe was. She never thought he'd treat her this way. He was supposed to be her protector.

"Yes, Poe! I'm going to be happily married to Y/n, whether you like it or not!" Lucy yelled. She knew her brother wouldn't listen to her. His mind was always set on his way of thinking. "Poe, please. I love Y/n. I'm going to marry him." She told him, her words coming out as more of a beg.

The beg in her eyes made Poe's heart sink. What had he done? He couldn't believe he was treating his sister this way. She was his most precious sibling. He looked around the room, his eyes glancing quickly at Y/n.

He was still standing in the same position. Poe takes a step forward, standing directly in front of his sister. "I'm not going to allow you to ruin your life, sister-" He was interrupted by Y/n stepping in between the two of them, once again.

Y/n glares at Poe, his eyes filled with a rage of his own. If Poe thought he had a protective look in his eyes, this was different. Y/n looked like he wanted to take Poe apart piece by piece.

His hands balled up into fists in his pockets, his back straight, and his shoulders wide. "Lucy is marrying me, and she's going to have a good life. If you can't accept that, then maybe you shouldn't be invited to the wedding," Y/n tells him in his cold voice.

Poe's mouth opened, but his mind was empty. He had never thought Y/n was capable of saying such things. He's seen Y/n as this peasant. This lower class citizen. And yet, here he was, standing up to him with the confidence only a rich person could have.

Poe felt himself blush in embarrassment. A part of him wanted to lash out and yell at Y/n, but the other part was too taken aback. He looks at his sister with a soft gaze. "You're really marrying him?"

Her eyes fill with a soft look, as though she was asking for his permission. "Yes. I'm really marrying him." She says, gently pulling Y/n's hands out of his pockets. His hands are filled with calluses from working in his shop. But Lucy didn't care how hard his hands were, she wanted him.

And that's when it hit Poe. When it really hit him. His sister was going to marry a peasant, and she was happily going to do so. "Fine." Poe says with a sigh. He was defeated.

His eyes turn back up to Lucy, his sister, staring at him with a warm smile.

Poe's lips thin into a small smile at his sister. He still can't believe this is happening, but he feels himself wanting to move on from his rage. He nods at his sister, accepting her marriage to Y/n.

"I wish you the best, sister." He says, before turning to face Y/n with a stare. "But if you break her heart, I'll make you into my next horror story." Poe says, warning the peasant.
