So today is the day that the new kid should be here. Molly roped me into helping her prepare and clean. I was stuck doing the whole downstairs of the house, and making dinner. Mr. Blake was coming to introduce the mystery roomate over the dinner, so I had to make it ‘good’.
About an hour after cleaning, I got myself dressed properly, and headed downstairs. Molly should be back from the store any minute, because she was picking up some soda for dinner. Let’s just say, she was running late, and now Mr. Blake and his great nephew should be here any second also. My phone begins vibrating so I pull it out.
I’ll be there any second. Just down the road. Need you to open the door for me cuz my hands are full. Thnx, c u soon. ~MoMo
A few seconds later, there was a sound at the door, so I go open it while looking at my phone. “Molly, they should be here any minute! What happened at that store?” I questioned, then after that I looked up. Mr. Blake was standing there.
“Oh... um sorry sir, I thought you were Molly.” I apologized.”
“No worries, Ms. Parker. My nephew is getting his bags from my car, so he’ll be in momentarily.” Mr. Blake said happily.
“Okay. Do you want to come over to the kitchen for now? We’ve got dinner all set.” So we walked to the table, and he was seated. I told him I would go help his nephew real quick, because he still hadn’t come in.
Walking out the door, I see a guy bending over the car, getting a suitcase. Hmm, he could actually be hot, I decided.
Wait, is that-Oh, shit! Fuck. My. Life. And who is it? You guessed it-Andy the Asshole. Fuck! Why does the world hate me?! No. No. No. Let’s just hope he’s unpacking the bags. Wait, there’s another guy next to him! Yes! Maybe the other guy is moving in, and Andy is helping to unpack the bags! Oh, wait, they’re coming this way! I ran inside quickly, grabbing a coat. Maybe he just won’t recognize me. I couldn’t have been the only intoxicated one. Okay, deep breaths, Neveah. Deep breaths. I’m going to just hope for the best, and if that fails, I’ll just wait for Molly to get home, and sneak out before anyone realizes and we can get this solved. Yep, that should work, I thought.
I got into the kitchen, and saw Noah was sitting down chatting it up with Mr. Blake. “Erm... Noah, can you go help Mr. Blake’s nephew with his bags? I think he might be having issues. Take them to his room, please.” Noah gave me a questioning look, and walked outside.
“This is splendid dinner, Neveah. Thank you so much!” he said as we began eating. Molly just walked in, and set the soda down.
“Where’s Noah?” she asked. “Did he ditch?”
“Nope he’s helping settle my nephew in,” Mr. Blake began. “actually, there they are now.” I took a deep breath, and turned around slowly. Please be the other hot guy, please be the other hot guy, please be the other hot guy! my mind chanted quickly. Remember how I said the world hates me earlier? I take it back! The world wants me to die apparently. It stuns me.
Molly burst out laughing, clutching her sides, and Noah just had a questioning look on his face towards his sister. I hate my luck. “Are you okay, Ms. Peters?” Mr. Blake asked, worriedly. He must have thought she was choking.
“Oh, she’s fine. Just suffering a case of stupidity with a side of luck.” I mumbled the last bit of course. Unfortunately, that got attention of the room. The room being Molly, Noah, Mr. Blake, and the Asshole. Asshole looked at me, and did a double take, and his eyes widened with realization. This made Molly laugh more, then when she regained composure, she told me it isn’t socially acceptable to mumble. I flipped her the middle finger when Mr. Blake wasn’t looking. This got me a chuckle from the Asshole.
Dinner just ended up being extremely quiet and awkward, unless it was Molly talking, or making fun of me. She managed to slip in a couple comments about how amazing her luck must be this week. Oh, I was ready to kill her by the end of the meal.
____Later____
Mr. Blake finally decided he had to get home and go to sleep. Finally. He thanked us many, many times for allowing his nephew into our home, and kept reminding us how thankful he was.
“Okay, so I’m headed to bed. I have work in the morning. Night guys.” Noah said, and hurried upstairs. No way, he probably has a girl up there. He’s never in bed this early. Dumbass never learned.
“Well I have to run to Anna’s next door and give her some missing school work. VeVe, why don’t you show our guest around?” she said mischeviously and slipped on her coat and shoe before I could reply. “Bye, Love.” she said and winked at me with a smirk.
“I hate you too!” I yelled just loud enough for her to hear it, as she was closing the door. Then, I checked my phone for any texts, and to see what time it was.
“So VeVe-” the Asshole started.
“Nope. Don’t call me that. She barely gets away with it.” I cut him off quickly. He just laughed.
“I don’t know, I think I like it.” he said in his British accent. Why do I love British accents? Why? It’s a family curse. It must be.
“I think you shouldn’t for your safety. I’m kind of a bitch, if you haven’t noticed.” I replied cooly.
“And I’m kind of an asshole, as you’ve reminded me a few times.” he said, while smirking. You got that right, buddy.
“Well, then here’s a deal. I’ll stop reminding you, if you agree to keep all suggestions, funny little comments, and all that stuff to yourself. Deal” I proposed.
“Nah. I think you’ll be fun to tease! You seem like one of those really good girls at heart. The perfect grades, the typical good girl, you know. The type that needs to loosen up a little bit. Which I can help you with, by the way.” he hinted while smirking again.
“Haha how about no. Like I said the other night, you’re not that lucky. Nor will you be any time soon.” I concluded.
“Is that a challenge?” he asked curiously.
“Nope. I’m just simply telling you, it’s not happening. So let’s get that straight and move on now. Forget the party, forget everything, and we’ll start fresh and be casual, got it?” I asked.
“Hmm... I like the challenge better. And I always win challenges.” he declared. And by that time we were outside his bedroom door. “Well, goodnight, Love.” he said. As I was about to cut him off and tell him that he could shove that goodnight right up his ass, he cut me off with a quick peck on the lips. I shut up right away, suprised he would pull something like that. “And by the way, I am the determined type, so I will win this.” He slipped into the bedroom and I pounded on the door, calling him lots of names, as he muffled a laugh.
“How dare you, you little fucker! Come back out here and face me!” I shouted much more than that for a long, long time. Noah eventually came out, telling me that he could hear my voice over his headphones. He dragged me, kicking and grabbing at that door, back to my room. He then proceeded to shove me into my room, and hold the door. When I get my hands on that little asshole, he’s gonna be sorry. You don’t just kiss me! He’s got some nerve! I’m not some whore he can play with. Small things like that count a lot to me, and he obviously won’t get that.
I eventually fell asleep, fuming over the situation. Which I admit, isn’t a big deal, but to a girl like me, it really is. He can go play with another stupid blond girl, but not me. I refuse to put myself in that situation.
