Later that night-or I guess it’s just super early in the morning-I still couldn’t sleep. That sleeping medicine obviously wasn’t going to work. So, I ventured downstairs to get some tea.

Warming my water up in the kitchen microwave, I hear a noise. I quickly check the clock, and it says 1:56am. Most people stay up this late, but I’m not one of those people. I’m in bed by 11pm. I grabbed a knife from the knife rack, and duck behind the counter, as the sound gets closer. My clumsiness better not kick in right now! I thought to myself. I heard it on the other side of the room, so I crawled further towards the opposite side they were and tried to hide behind another part of the counter. The attacker comes closer, almost right where I was. I hear it open the microwave. Oh no! He must know I’m here now. I try to army crawl around the other side of the counter, but my foot hits a bar stool seated on that side. It makes a small noise, but all other noises stop. The walking, and the hum of the fridge, and everything else. Shit. I thought. And a single tear fell from my eye, because my left cheek was pressed against the floor from my crawling. I heard footsteps right in front of me. I screamed at the last minute “Noah!”

“Neveah? Neveah, are you okay?” it said.

“No, no no! Get away!” I yelled.

“Neveah, what’s wrong?” I tried to get up, but he grabbed me by the wrist. I looked up, he wouldn’t let go.

“Noah!” I screamed again! Noah came bursting in the kitchen. I kicked the man in the back of the leg and ran for Noah, trying to get to the phone next to him.

“No, no, no, VeVe. You don’t need it.” Noah said like he was talking to a child.

“What the hell are you talking about I don’t need it?” I cried. The man started coming towards us. I ran again, but Noah grabbed my arm. “Noah, what the hell are you doing? Don’t let him get me!” Everything in the room was sort of weird. Things were in different places, and seemed disproportionate. The set of flowers turned into snakes, and the curtains became things I can’t name! Then, I blacked out.

_The next morning_

I woke up with headache, again. And this time, I had a bruise on my knee, and the side of my head. I probably rolled off the bed again, I thought. So, I checked the time. 10:45am, it read. Wow, I slept in! I slipped on some sweatpants, because I didn’t want to wear my shorts downstairs. Then I went down, and into the kitchen.

When I walked in Noah, Molly, and Andy were sitting in the bar stools by the counter. The last stool was broken. Come to look at it, so were a few other things. The vase that held our daisies was missing too.

“What the hell happened in here?” I said. They all looked at me. I felt some tension in the room. They must have been doing some serious talking. Wait, then why were they talking without me? “Guys?” I asked.

“Um.. well we decided we needed to go grocery shopping real quick, so me and Andy will run to the store.” Noah said. Well this is weird.

“Well I have to come too. You guys always get the wrong kind of toaster strudels. And considering I’m the one who usually makes dinner-”

“Bye!” the boys said and hurried out. I turned and looked at Molly who shifted uncomfortably in her stool.

“Okay, what’s going on?” I asked.

“Well, we think we should take you in to see a doctor. Before you freak out-”

“A doctor?! Why?” I said.

“From last night. Or at least from what Andy and Noah told me happened last night. Do you not remember?”

“Look, if you guys think you’re funny, and are playing a joke on me, you should stop. You know how I feel about hospitals.” I said. And it’s true, I hate hospitals with a fiery passion. They’ve creeped me out since childhood.

“I’m not messing around VeVe!” she said frustratedly. “The guys said that last night, you seriously thought Andy was an intruder and had a freak out, then started seeing random things. They think you were hallucinating.”

No freaking way. That’s not even possible.
