PORCHAY'S POV
"Pft, what a joke!" I scoffed upon overhearing their conversation.
When I left Miss Amanda, I encrypted all of her CCTV cameras on my computer. Sean and I had been watching them all night.
"Khun Porchay, Khun Kim might be genuinely concerned about you," Sean suggested.
"I don't care, Sean. I've been through a lot because of him. While I can acknowledge his effort to protect me, what I asked isn't too much for me to be left dumbfounded," I replied.
What I truly desired was for him to be with me, but he couldn't, he wouldn't— he would never do that for me.
"I can't disagree with you. Khun Kim is smart enough to know that having your brother with them would drag you into their lives too," Sean nodded.
"Anyway, call Lung Korn, tell him that we're leaving. I have to go back to Italy as soon as possible. Now that P'Kim knows that I'm here and after what I did, he will definitely find me."
*Knock, Knock, Knock*
A loud banging on the door interrupted our conversation. Sean glanced at the window to identify the person outside who seemed to be unfamiliar with the concept of a doorbell.
"It's Khun Kim, khrup."
"Let him be. Pack all our things and go to the underground garage. Ready the car, and I'll meet you there." He nodded and left immediately.
Lung Korn was wise enough to buy a house with an escape route in case something happens.
"Porchay, I know you're there. Please, open the door," he pleaded.
His soft plea melted a spot inside me. I walked down the stairs, slowly approaching the door. As I was about to open it, I remembered the day he shoved my hand away. I had asked for a chance multiple times, but I was rejected every time.
A tear welled up as I recalled how these people had destroyed my heart. I held the doorknob, only a few clicks away from facing the man who broke my heart the most. But as soon as I realized what I was doing, I slowly removed my hand from the knob and walked away from the door.
"I'm sorry, P'Kim. It still hurts that I couldn't face you anymore," I whispered.
Sean was waiting for me inside the car.
"Are you sure that we're going to leave today, Khrup? I mean, he will still notice the car," Sean said while getting the car ready.
"Just drive, he can't catch up to us," I said and laid my back to rest; I felt so exhausted after all the drama happened today. He would notice the car as it passed by the house, but it could take time to catch up to us.
SEAN'S POV
As I started the car, Khun Porchay immediately fell asleep. On days like this, he's a heavy sleeper, and no one could wake him up.
I recalled his birthday when we visited, or rather, wrecked Khun Decha's property. He slept for 4 hours before his party. I tried various ways of waking him up, but I failed, so I just waited and drove him around until he woke up by himself.
I was focused on driving when I received a phone call. It wasn't saved in my contact list, but I guessed who it was.
"Sean, I know you're with Porchay. Can you pull the car over so Porchay and I can talk?" Khun Kim said as I answered the phone. I should probably hang up, but I never heard him plead so softly before.
"He's sleeping right now, khrup. I will be doomed if he knew that I answered your call," I answered politely. I'm still working for their family.
"It's okay, he will not wake up. I just want to see him. Please, Sean. Please."
I sighed and pulled the car over. He was following us, and if he wanted to, he could probably catch up and block our car because, as far as I know, Khun Kim's a fast driver, but he didn't, which confused me.
I stepped outside and waited for his car. I opened the door for him and bowed.
"Thanks, Sean," he said and went to the window beside Khun Porchay's seat.I stood there as he caressed Khun Porchay's face. I could feel that he missed him so much, but he couldn't show it.
"Khun Kim, khrup. I'm sorry to interrupt you, but we have a flight to catch." We stood there for a while already. I'm scared of Khun Kim, but I'm more scared of Khun Porchay if he wakes up seeing Khun Kim caressing his face and holding his hand when all we did this night was run away from him.
He nodded at me, but Khun Kim kissed Khun Porchay's forehead and hand as he bid goodbyes to him.
"I'm really sorry, Porchay," Khun Kim said to Khun Porchay.
"Sean, thank you so much. You still did this even if this could get you in trouble. Please, take care of him for me," he said to me and patted my back.
"Yes, khrup." I bowed to him and got inside the car.
As I settled back into the driver's seat, the engine purred to life. Khun Porchay remained peacefully asleep, oblivious to the emotional storm that lingered in the air. The weight of the recent events pressed heavily on my mind as I navigated the darkened streets.
I couldn't help but reflect on Khun Porchay's pain—the scars etched by Khun Kim's actions. It was more than just a turbulent love affair; it was a tumultuous journey that had led us to this clandestine escape. I pondered the unseen battles, the silent tears, and the shattered trust that prompted Porchay to flee.
