Slow fade

The boys were practicing all day because we were going to a festival tomorrow and they would be performing. I had always wanted to go to a music festival because they always seemed relaxing.

" do you want to go shopping for the festival?" Ansley asked.

" yes! I need to get a good outfit. Lets het our hair and nails done too!"

" you're always full of amazing ideas."

We walked towards their practice room to inform then on our plans. I knocked and heard bill tell us to come in. They looked tired but thats probably since they have been in there for 3 hours.

" were going shopping if any of yall want something to eat or anything just call us." Ansley said.

Tom put his guitar down and came to give me a hug. " will you pick is dinner up?"

" of course is there anything you want exactly?"

" just het whatever you know we will eat anything." I lifted my head and he bent down to give me a kiss.

" ok were gone we should be back in a couple hours." Ansley announced after breaking away from her hug with bill.

" ok love you" bill told her. We closed to door behind us. I grabbed toms keys since he trusted me with his car. I put the key in the ignition and sped off towards the mall.

" Presley you drive so fast!"

" I know its fun isn't it." We laughed and enjoyed the loud music playing in the car. Its moments like this that I loved the most. Driving down a road with the windows down and good music playing.

We decided to get our hair and nails done first since it took the longest. " how can I help you ladies?"

" do you have time to do our hair and nails?"

" of course we had some cancellations."

One of the girls led Ansley to a chair and the other lady took me to a chair. It didn't take to long on our hair which was nice. We then sat down at a table to get our nails done.

Ansley got her nails a baby pink color and I got mine a baby blue. When we were done we tipped the ladies graciously.

" ma'am you forgot your money."

" no thats your tip."

" but you left $200"

" exactly you did an amazing job and we appreciate you."

The lady was so shocked at the tip we had left. " you don't know how much this means to me. I've been struggling so much and this will help me support me and my daughter."

She looked as if she was our age so I was taken back when she said she had a daughter. I don't judge though because you never know someone's story to judge them.

" how old is your daughter?"

" shes three. Shes here actually."

" can we meet her?" I don't know what came over me but I felt a connection between this girl and I was Jair drawn to her. " yea I'll go get her from the back."

She walked behind the curtain and then came out with a little girl. The little girl had Down syndrome which drew me even closer to them.

I crouched down to talk to the little girl.
" hi my name is Presley and what is your name?"

" Molly." She put her hand out which I took in mine. I gave it a gentle squeeze letting her know everything was ok.

" hi Molly my name is Presley and her name is Ansley. How are you today?"

" im good."

" im so glad to hear that. Do you like music?"

Molly got so excited when I mentioned music. Her mother spoke up. " she adores music its one of the few things that gets her really excited."

I had read the moms name tag to see her name was Andrea. " Andrea we are attending a festival tomorrow if you're free I would love it if you and Molly joined us."

" she wanted to go so bad but I couldn't afford it but now with your tip I'll be able to take us. Molly we can go to the festival!"

Molly jumped up and down in excitement. I was glad to have been able to put that smile on their faces. " actually we have two extra tickets so you won't have to buy any. We are also about to go shopping for tomorrow would you like to join us?"

" oh that would be lovely I am actually done here now."

" perfect I'll drive us to the mall and bring you back to your car if you want."

" I would love that."

I bent down to talk to Molly again. " Molly what is your favorite band?"

" tokio hotel. I like Tom."

" me too! Would you like to meet him tomorrow?"

" yes!" Molly wrapped her arms around my neck and gave me the biggest hug. " come on lets go get you a nice outfit for tomorrow.

" how are we going to meet them? Andrea asked.

" I date Tom and Ansley dates bill."

" oh wow I never knew that."

Ansley had picked Molly up and had her on her hip. They were dancing to the music playing on the radio. " are you ready to go?" I asked Andrea.

" yea." Ansley sat in the back with Molly and they seemed to be getting to know each other while Molly kept talking about georg and Gustav. It warmed my heart knowing that I had helped and made two peoples days.

We spent the rest of our time at the mall getting our outfits picked out for tomorrow. We pulled up to Andrea's car so she could go home.

Andrea gave me a hug and thanked me for today. " thank you so much for today you have no idea what it means to us. Most people aren't kind to her since she is different."

" Different is what makes the world beautiful. Here give me your number I'll text you when we are going to pick you up tomorrow."

" you'd do that?"

" of course."

Andrea typed her number into my phone and have me her address. I gave Molly a hug and waved goodbye to her.

I got into toms car and drove us towards our house. " Presley that was the nicest thing I've ever seen. Thank you for today."

" why are you thanking me?"

" I use to have a brother with Down syndrome and people were always so mean to him or treated him like he was different. You made her feel like an actual person. It meant a lot to me."

" I don't look at people on their outside appearance I look at people on the inside. To bad the rest of the world hasn't gotten the memo."

" we are going to have the best day tomorrow."

" I know."

I had bought a Polaroid camera while we were out to capture all of the sweet memories we would make tomorrow.

When we walked through the front door we saw the boys sat on the couch. I placed the dinner on the kitchen counter when I felt two hands hug me and a kiss be placed on my cheek.

" I like your new hair." I had gotten the underneath hair dyed black. It looked really good in my opinion.

" thank you. Also I made two new friends today and they will be joining us tomorrow if thats ok."

" yea thats ok with me."

" also one of them has a crush on you."

" and you're inviting them?" Tom asked really confused.

" considering shes only three I think we will be ok."

" oh ok I was really confused there for a second."

The boys joined us in the kitchen and placed the food on their plates. We all sat at the kitchen table and talked about our days.
