Tom and bills father arrived to the house after work to it quiet. His boys had left for tour and he was kind of sad about them being gone but he knew they Would be doing what they love.
He wanted to get to know Presley so he walked up to her room. He knocked a few times but didn't get a response. He hadn't seen her for a while and something in him told him something was wrong. I opened the door to see her gone but saw that her window was open.
He shut the window and saw the bathroom door. He knocked a few times but it was silent. The water wasn't running so she wasn't taking a shower. He put his hand on the door knob and twisted it. It was hard to open something was blocking the door.
He pushed harder to see a hand on the ground. He squeezed through to his best ability to see she was laying on the floor. He saw an empty bottle of pills on the floor. He grabbed his phone out of his pocket quickly dialing for an ambulance.
" yes she took a whole bottle. I don't know when she did it or why but please hurry."
He hung up after giving them the address and sat down next to her body. He grabbed her wrist to hear a very faint heart beat. That was a good sign that she was still alive but also a bad sign since it was very faint.
He heard the front door open and three men rushed in. They carefully took her body and placed it onto a gurney and rushed her to the hospital. He jumped I to his car and rushed right behind them.
He finally arrived and sat in the waiting room waiting for any kind of news about her condition. He knew it would take a while but he was willing to wait. This girl meant a lot to his wife and it was the least he could do.
It had been about three hours and his leg could not stop shaking at the thought of what could of happened. He remembered there was a note she had in her hand. He had taken in and placed it into his pocket.
He pulled it out and looked at the words. Yes it was personal and he probably shouldn't have read it but maybe it would give clues as to why she did it.
He didn't know her middle name was because of his wife. He didn't realize until he was done reading the letter that he had tears. He didn't even know this girl but something about her reminded him of his wife.
He missed her everyday. Maybe if she had still been here she could of helped Presley. Maybe if she was still here Tom would be happy again. I missed how happy he use to be and it pains him to see his son so angry all of the time now.
" family for Presley?"
He stood up from his seat hoping for good news but in the back of his mind expecting bad.
" we pumped her stomach and it was very close. She died for a minute on the table but we were able to get her heart rate back. It's still faint but in time she should be able to get it back to normal."
He let out a huge breath of relief he didn't even know he had been holding.
" we suggest she go to this center that helps people with suicidal thoughts it might help her so this won't happen again."
Something about sending someone off to somewhere like that didn't sit right with him especially a young girl that didn't really even know him. He knew though that he worked a lot and bill and Tom were gone so they wouldn't have a chance to watch her.
" when she wakes up we will have someone from the center come and take her. She should only be there a couple of months and then they will call you when she is ready to come home"
" ok" he was allowed to go see her. He walked slowly to her room and opened the door. She laid there practically life less. It hurt him to know that she was in so much pain and decided this was her only option.
It brought up memories or looking at his wife in the hospital bed when the cancer started to slowly take away her life and personality. In her final days she rarely spoke. Everything I knew and loved about her had been taken away from me.
" you know if you had waited a little bit longer she would of been gone. You did a good job you saved her life."
He turned around to see a nurse talking to him. He thanked her and walked out of the hospital to his car. It wasn't his place to tell the boys it was hers. If she wanted to tell her story that was choice. He sat in his car and thought about everything that had happened that day. He rested his head on the steering wheel and let his emotions take over.
He did good he saved her life. It felt nice knowing he had done that.
