"Ok! Now we are going to do some brief general introductions and then we can go straight into the first practice for today which is dance!" The enthusiastic dancing coach told the group.
"Ok so I need you all to come into a circle, and please make it a good one! Just because it is the first day doesn't mean we need to start off with bad formations" he continued. All of the contenstants took their last swigs of water before forming their satisfactory circle in the middle of the room.
"Ok quiet down everyone, glad to know that we can at least all make a circle. I am going to pick one of you at random and we will go left from there. I want you to say your name, your specialty, where you're from, and 1 interesting fact about you." He waited for the contenstants to boy their heads in understanding before continuing.
"Eenie... meenie... mino.. you" he pointed right at Chan with a smirk on his face. Chan figured this would be the case, he has been with the company for a long time so he knew the gist of things and most of the people here.
"Alright. Hi everyone, I'm BangChan but you can call me Chan. My specialty is producing, I am originally from Australia but I have lived here for the past 5 years, and an interesting fact about me is that I have helped write a couple of songs for different groups under JYP." The group of people all shared their amazement with Chan's experience.
Unfortunately Felix was seated on Chan's left which meant that he would go next. He felt a block form in his throat. He didn't know enough Korean to not make a complete ass of himself.
"Hi... my name is Felix, but my Korean name is Yongbok.." he looked to Chan for some guidance. He had been able to learn the simple introduction but not much more than that yet.
Chan leaned over slightly and Felix asked how to announce his specialty. Chan nodded and asked what it was, when Felix said dance Chan translated as helpfully as he could back to Felix. The assistance did not stop Felix from making some mistakes. Some of the contenstants in the circle were not very understanding and started to snicker. This made Felix more nervous to talk and caused more stumbling on his words. Chan gave the others a glare and he saw another contestant tap one of his presumed friends on the shoulder and both of them gave warning looks to those who were lauging and the circle got more quiet.
"Uhm... my specialty is dance... I am from Australia... and I have 63 medals in Teakwando.." Felix was praying in his head that the coach would not want him to demonstrate. He just wanted it all to be over. Chan placed a hand on Felix's shoulder and leaned to his ear.
"Don't pay any mind to them, I was able to follow along." He gave Felix a reassuring smile but all he wanted to do was hide in a shell and not come out.
Slowly the others made their way around the circle and it was the turn of the 2 contestants that told the others to shut up when Felix was presenting.
"Hi, I'm Changbin. My specialty is rap and also some producing. I am from here and a fun fact... hmm... I enjoy going to the gym and I love food." He gave a warm smile to group and brightened it up when his eyes passed Felix.
"Hi, I'm Jisung but many call me Han. My specialty is also rap and some production. I am originally from here but I spent some time in Malaysia growing up which is also my fun fact." The male had chubby cheeks almost like a squirrel which Felix found inviting.
A couple more people introduced themselves and then it was the turn of the handsome male that Felix saw when he first came in.
"Hi, my name is Hyunjin, Hwang Hyunjin. My specialty is dance. I was born and raised not far from here. And fun fact I guess is that I was scouted to come here while out shopping with my family. At first I thought it was a scam but im glad I looked further into it otherwise I wouldn't be here today." His fact made him chuckle and he had the prettiest smile and his laugh was contagious.
"Hi, I'm Minho. My specialty is dance. I was born in South Korea. My fun fact is that I was a backup dancer for BTS before I came here." A couple of contenstants gasped at the newly discovered information." Hyunjin looked at the man and whispered something in his ear causing the latter to chuckle to himself. He caught Hyunjin glancing at him from he other side of the room again. He got nervous at the stares, it was like the taller brunette was trying to look into his soul.
The last 2 to present were 2 of the youngest in the room.
"Hello, my name is Seungmin. My speciatly is vocal. I grew up in South Korea, and my fun fact is that I am a Virgo." He shrugged his shoulders, not really knowing what to say for a fun fact.
"Hi there, my name is Jeongin but you can also call me I.N. My specialty is vocal. I grew up in South Korea and my fun fact is that Seungmin here is my roomate!" He shook the boy next to him excitedly.
"Ok great, so now that we have that out of the way, let's get to what we really came here for. To learn!" He clapped his hands and had a big smile on his face. Felix was having some trouble following along but was relieved that they would dance. He didn't need Korean to participate in that.
The group lined up, since Felix still was not very fluent in Korean he opted to stay in the back so that he could observe the others in front for guidance on anything the coach may direct that he doesn't understand. Chan took his place next to Felix, who gave him a thankful look for sticking by him and helping him out. Chan had taken Felix under his wing during the competition.
The group started off slow, learning the steps one by one and gradually picking up the pace in learning. Some of the contestants had less experience in dancing and Han, although technically good, really struggled with memory sometimes and tended to mess up. His reactions to his mistakes, however, did bring a lighthearted mood to the room and broke the panting and sweat with some laughs.
Hyunjin and Minho had taken their spots at the front of the room, both were confident enough in their skills and the choreography was familiar to them. Hyunjin could not help but notice the new Australian at the back of the room and was surprised by his skills. Despite struggling with some of the directions and comments due to the language difference, his technique was good and he had an elegant and clean dancing style. His demeanor also changed when he was dancing, going from sweet and shy to intimidating and strong.
Hyunjin was captivated by Felix's presence in the mirror and the same could be said for Felix. 'Not only is he one handsome teenager, the guy can really dance and seems like he has energy for days. The sweat was dripping off his forehead and he literally sparkled in the lights. He licked the corner of his lips with a drop of sweat dropping off it and he had to admit that it was very attractive. Both felt the eyes of the other staring and had to divert their eyes away. This did not go unnoticed by Minho next to Hyunjin, who gave him a weird look to ask what he was doing.
Although Minho had his eyes on a certain male who was very prone to messing up and was trying to stop himself from smiling.
