Before You

The Zoo

Felix was nervous to see Hyunjin, but another part of him felt excited. He was happy to be able to spend time with Hyunjin like usual, but he also had a plan up his sleeve. He planned to just match the other's energy.
'If Hyunjin wanted to flirt, I can match it and see how he feels.'

Was it a little petty? Yes. Was it exciting? Yes. Was his heart in his throat with nerves? Absolutely.

"Felix! Let's go!" Minho screamed through the dorm.

He was putting the last touches on his outfit for the day. He was wearing light jeans, a blush pink blouse with some stiped details on it and a white Jean jacket. His hair was softly styled back and he put on a little but of makeup, just enough to accentuate his natural features, making his eyes look bigger and his lips a tint of pink.

Once he felt satisfied with his appearance, he left the dorm and went out to meet the others. He was the last one out so naturally all attention was on him when he stepped toward the group.

"It was your idea to go to the zoo and you are the last one here?" Seungmin says with sass. Felix just rolled his eyes in response and fixed his attention on the person who immediately caught his eye.

'Damn. He looks like a freaking prince.' Felix internally cursed himself for already feeling the confidence in him falter. His confidence sparked up a little when he saw a smile appear on Hyunjin's lips when they locked eyes. He could have sworn he saw Hyunjin's gaze move up and down on him before their eyes locked.

"Pick the car you want to go in, if you can't manage to figure it out I will do it for you so please just make it easy." Chan said pleading.

Trying not to get a scolding the group divided up without much hassle.

"Hyunjin. Here!" Chan tossed him a set of keys to the van. Felix looked over at Hyunjin with wide eyes.

"You can drive?!" Him and Jisung asked simultaneously, Jisung giving him a teasing look afterwards which Felix rolled his eyes at.

"Yeah, I learned over the summer right before the competition." Hyunjin bragged, knowing that he was one of the few that could drive.

Felix made an impressed face and just nodded, crawling into the backseat with Jisung. Jeongin was with them as well who crawled into the passenger seat.

"Everyone buckled?" Hyunjin asked before starting the car.

"What, should we be concerned?" Jisung sassily responded back.

"You're lucky yongbokkie and jeongin are too precious to risk, or I would have purposefully made it a hell of a ride Jisung." Hyunjin sparked back, winking at Felix in the mirror and ruffling up Jeonging's hair in the passenger seat.

Jisung rolled his eyes at Hyunjin. "Just drive will you. We are all secured back here." Jisung snarked.

The ride to the zoo was quiet, only the sounds of the car and the gentle noise of the radio filling the cabin. Felix softly hummed along to some of the songs, causing Hyunjin to smile to himself. He wanted to turn up the radio at some point but he didn't want to drown out the cute humming noises.

When they arrived at the zoo, Felix hopped out of the car and skipped his way to the front.

"Thanks for getting us here safely jinnie." He kissed Hyunjin on the cheek, leaving Hyunjin behind with red cheeks and a cute smile on his face. Felix turned back toward him to see the effect and smiled to himself, his confidence gaining.

"Good luck my friend." Jisung came up next to Hyunjin and patted him on the back. Hyunjin gave him a questioning look.

'What is up with everyone today?'
Hyunjin shook his head and followed the others to the entrance of the zoo, jogging slightly to catch up to Felix. When he caught up he slung his arm around Felix's shoulder. Felix gently grabbed the hand was now hanging over his shoulder and held it.
