Before You

And So It Begins

The group made it back home from their tiring meeting. They were at JYP for over 4 hours going over their schedules and expectations for the rehearsals to start in preparation for their debut.

"I am ready for bed!" Seungmin whined as he entered the door.

"I miss my cats!" Minho rolled his eyes and walked like a zombie over to the kitchen to get some water.

Felix stayed silent but just flopped himself onto the couch, his face mushed into the soft cushion.

The other dorm was not much better off, Jisung did what Felix did but more dramatic as he flung himself so hard the couch moved back some with the impact.

Changbin immediately took off his jacket and sighed in relief, flexing his muscles "the puppies can breathe!"

Hyunjin stayed to himself, he was caught up on something on his face and smiled lightly.

"Oooohhhh what's got you all smiley!" Jisung's whiny demeanor was replaced by an eager and curious one.

"Huh?" Hyunjin looked up at them, Jisung immediately sprinted over and tried to look at Hyunjin's phone, who locked it as soon as Jisung came close to him.

"What's with the secrecy" Jisung smirked.

"No secrecy, just don't need nosy people in my business" Hyunjin snapped back with snark in his voice.

"Hey! Don't start the nonsense already guys! Jisung leave Hyun alone, Hyun, you are the older one, don't start fights" Chan bolted as he was the last to enter into the dorms.

Jisung stuck his tongue out at Hyunjin before heading toward his room. "I'm tired, I'll see you guys in the morning."

Hyunjin glared at Jisung before running his hand through his hair to slick it back.

"Don't let him get to you Hyun, you know how he gets. Anyway, we should go to bed too, we have a long day of rehearsals tomorrow and need our rest." Chan said, groaning and he propelled himself off the couch and held out his hand to help Hyunjin up.

Hyunjin took the hand and pulled himself up as well. He was about to head toward the room when Chan briefly stopped him.

"I don't know what has you all smiley on that phone, and if you think I don't want to know then please don't tell me, but unless it's illegal, keep doing it. I like seeing that sparkle in you." Chan smiled softly at him before letting go of his hand and patting him on the back.

'He definitely doesn't want to know'

Hyunjin unlocked his phone again to be faced with the cause of his smile. The picture of Felix admiring the town in Jeju. He selected the picture and placed it as Felix's contact picture. Satisfied he locked his phone and went into his room to retrieve his toothbrush and toiletries from his suitcase.

~back at the other dorm~

Everyone had gone their seperate ways to prepare themselves for the big day tomorrow. He was laying in bed but felt restless.

'What if I fall on my butt'
'What if I can't understand the directions?'
'What if I can't get the moves'

A million different scenarios were running through his head, but one of them stood out.

'Why can't I still be in Jeju. Nights were so peaceful'

Deep down he didn't have to guess why he felt less at ease. Sure, he knew that there he wasn't faced with reality. But majority was because he had Hyunjin with him. He felt so safe, so protected, so understood, his mind didn't have time to ruminate when Hyunjin was there, his presence was enough to settle his mind.
