The ride over to the motel was kept silent. Elliot drove, both hands flexing against the wheel. Liv kept casting her eyes to his hands each little movement reminded her of how his hands felt on her. She pulled her eyes away from him and forced them to stay on the window, watching the streets go by as he drove.
Elliot closed the door to the motel room behind him. The pair let out audible deep breaths, taking in the world wind that had been the last few hours. Liv's eyes fell on the only thing that she could see.
"Two double beds" Olivia pointed out as she turned to face him.
"Yeah. It was the only room they had when I got here and we won't have to share now at least" she nodded.
"I'm going to change in the bathroom" he nodded, watching as she took her bag from him and disappeared into the bathroom, not meeting his eyes again, the door closed behind her.
Elliot let out another heavy sigh and moved to sit on the bed closest to the door. He moved up against the headboard, trying to calm himself down after the crazy day he'd had. After all, this was Liv. His Liv. Who he still hadn't asked what had happened since he'd been gone. From the scar that he felt earlier, she'd had it rough and he didn't want to complicate things by pushing her too far. For now, she was his friend. Right here, right now, the kisses, the little touches, were Ellison and Grace, not El and Liv. She wasn't his because he had screwed that up. Now all he had to do was find the right time to ask her what had happened whilst he'd been gone and hope that his role didn't push her over the edge.
When Olivia left the bathroom his eyes locked onto her oversized sleep shirt and the two key shaped burns on her left thigh. After a few seconds he forced his eyes upwards and finally met her hers.
"I didn't think we'd be sharing otherwise I would've brought something else. I didn't think" he nodded.
"It's fine Liv" he assured her before he climbed off the bed "I'm going to go change" he grabbed the stuff he'd placed at the end of the bed and moved towards the bathroom when Liv caught his arm before he could pass her.
"Everything that happens undercover, stays undercover. None of this is real" he nodded and she released his arm, letting him go inside the bathroom and close the door behind him. Olivia climbed into the bed closest to the bathroom door and got under the covers.
She wasn't going to let Elliot's voice or little touches or kisses ruin the walls that she had built around her heart, not after Brian and Ed. No. Elliot needs to prove himself, to show that he's not just going to walk away from her like last time. He was gone for ten years with his wife and kids and he showed up with a letter that they had written to her. He confesses his love for her then retracts it. He tries to kiss her after she was almost macheted. No. Elliot doesn't get a free pass. No matter what he's making her feel on the inside. No matter how much she wants to give in to him.
When the door opened again Olivia's eyes fell on Elliot's still damp chest and the boxer shorts around his waist.
"It was all I brought with me" he smiled, and Liv knew it was probably true, it released some of the tension in the air. Elliot crossed the room and climbed into the empty bed, lying on his right side to face her.
"Goodnight Gracie" she smiled.
"Goodnight El" he switched off the light and rolled onto his back, closing his eyes. Liv rolled over and faced the wall, thankful that El hadn't forced her to talk about her scars, her eyes rolled shut peacefully.
When Liv woke up again she was disoriented for a few seconds until the past twenty four hours came back to her. Anaya, Elliot, the bar, his lips, his hands. Then the hushed voices outside made her whole body wake up. Olivia shot up in bed and moved to Elliot.
"El. El, wake up" she whispered, making him jump up in fear.
"What is it?" He whispered back.
"They're outside" she told him, his eyes going to the window where he could see their shadows moving outside getting closer to their door. When his eyes moved back to Liv she had pulled her sleep shirt up enough for him to catch a glimpse of the black lace between her legs, then she was pulling back the covers and climbing over him.
"Play along" she reminded him before she connected their lips. Elliot froze under her so she grabbed his hands and pushed them under the back of her shirt before her own hands returned to his chest, feeling along his muscles as the door to their room opened. Elliot dropped his hands from her back in order to cover her more from the men that barged into their room, his hands landed on her thighs instead.
"Ellison's getting himself a piece of ass" Kurt leered.
"Do you mind? I'm trying to get some" Liv shot back as she sat back on her knees, her and Elliot's intimate parts only separated by the thin material of their underwear.
"You let your bitch ride it?" Joe teased with a smirk.
"You let your girl ride it and I guarantee she'll get on her knees for you" Elliot shot back, stroking her thigh with his thumb, hoping that she knew he didn't mean it.
"Boss wants to meet her" Sam told him.
"What? Now?" El asked.
"Yeah, the boss wants to meet your bitch at 4am. No, dipshit he wants to see you both at 10am at the diner" Kurt rolled his eyes "You might want to get some sleep"
"With me here? Not a chance in hell is he sleeping 'till I'm done with him" Liv smirked before she turned back to El and took his face in her hands before she brought their lips together. And, for a second, Elliot almost forgot about their audience.
"Ever been watched princess?" Kurt smirked as he slipped into one of the chairs around the small table by the door.
"No one watches her but me" Elliot bit. Something about his tone made Liv shiver in his arms, she hoped that he wouldn't notice but he pulled her closer to his chest mistaking her for being cold not...his voice was just...good?
"Get out" Elliot barked. Liv buried her head in his neck, hiding from the men.
"Alright, alright" Kurt held his hands up in defeat and left the room with Sam and Joe, closing the door behind him as they went. The pair stayed frozen for a few seconds until they heard three car doors open and close again.
"Sorry, I couldn't think of anything else" Liv apologised as she tried to climb off him.
"It's fine. It was good cover" he assured her, helping her back onto her feet.
"Sorry, I kissed you with morning breath" she winced, remembering how most of the guys she dated hated it.
"You're good, you taste- you're good" he tried and failed to look away from her climbing back into her own bed.
"Better get some sleep before tomorrow then" she awkwardly smiled at him in the near dark.
"Yeah, goodnight Liv" he muttered as he lay back down and righted his bed covers.
"Goodnight El" she muttered back, pulling the covers over her as she turned to face the wall.
Elliot didn't know if or when she fell asleep, all he knew was that he definitely wasn't going back to sleep. Not after that.
