Chapter Twenty

"Olivia, you are my god given solace" He managed to groan out. Olivia let out the breath that she didn't know that she'd been holding in.
"Fin, please" She met his eyes, letting him see the pain, he let go and let her run off up the street. Elliot stepped out of the building across the street from the one that was bombed, and there was his Olivia racing towards him. She stopped just a half step in front of him, her hands going to his arms as she leaned her lips towards his.
"What about McGrath?"
"I don't care" He let her stand on her tiptoes and wrap her arm around his neck, and he smiled as she brought their lips together. His hands went to her waist, pulling her body as close to his as he could get it with their vests in the way.
"Oh damn" Fin hadn't realised he had said it out loud but no one cared as all their eyes fell to Elliot and Olivia who were still connected by their lips just up the street. When they finally pulled away, Liv looked up at him and smiled, her hand falling from behind his neck to interlock their fingers. She tugged on his hand gently and led him up the street to their friends and a very angry McGrath.
"You'll have our disclosures on your desk by tomorrow morning"
"You know what you're doing by being with him don't you?"
"Yes, I do. For once I am finally ensuring my happiness over what others think. I'm choosing myself and I won't apologize for that, to anyone" Liv squeezed Elliot's hand lightly before the pair went off hand in hand, each with a smile across their lips.

After much debating back and forth El let Liv drive him to the hospital to be checked out. No one died as a result of the bombing but a building was destroyed. Fin and the others cleaned up the scene before they joined Liv in the waiting room at the hospital.
"Hey, how is he?" Anaya asked as Fin hugged Liv.
"He's good, just being checked out. His kids and mother are on their way over here" She explained.
"Liv, how is he?" Kathleen asked as the other Stablers followed behind her.
"He's fine, it's just a check up" She assured them.
"What wouldn't he do for you, first it was bullets and now bombs" Bernie sighed.
"This time it was for innocent people, not me" She corrected her with a smile before her eyes moved to Eli, she didn't miss the nudge that Elizabeth gave him.
"I'm sorry for what I said. You make our dad really happy and I think it'll be good for him if you stuck around" He offered a small smile.
"I think you've been stuck with me for a long time" She joked.
"Miss Benson?" A young doctor smiled from across the waiting room.
"Yes"
"He's ready to see you now. And please can you help convince your boyfriend to stay overnight, it would be in his best interest"
"I'll try my best" She smiled before she led the others into his room.
"Hey, you brought the whole gang" He smiled up at her as she quickly dropped her lips to his.
"Of course I did. Their friend and dad almost got blown up, I wasn't going to keep that from them" He nodded "And the doctor wants you to stay overnight"
"No-"
"Yes if you ever want adult sleepovers again" She whispered.
"Adult sleepovers- oh ewww" Eli groaned.
"You don't think your old man has moves?" El shot back with a smirk.
"Technically I do" She shot back with a smirk.
"Damn Liv, we always knew you would seduce our dad" Kathleen smiled, holding her hand up for a high five.
"I don't think that's something we should high five about considering our history" Kathleen nodded.
"Yeah, you're right" She muttered as McGrath appeared in the doorway.
"Captain. Detective, it looks like you're doing better"
"Can I help you, Chief?" Liv asked.
"I think that we should talk in private-"
"Whatever you want to say, you can say it in front of my family" Her hand found El's beside her and McGrath's eyes landed on it.
"Your career will come to a dead stop-"
"I was born a sex crime, my whole life has been about sex crimes, I'll probably die one" She shrugged "I never wanted anything more than I've already got. I hate the politics but I love the work, I live for it. I'm happy where I am" She assured him.
"Okay then. But blind loyalty only gets you so far" He turned to leave but her voice stopped him.
"My loyalty isn't blind. Every bad mark on his record he got protecting me, making sure that they knew not to disrespect me or grope me. I can't tell you how many times he's taken a bullet for me. My loyalty was rightfully earned time and time again. I love him Chief and that's the end of it" he nodded.
"I wish you both luck" He muttered before he disappeared out into the hall.
"Damn, I am definitely going home tonight" he smirked.
"Dad!" His kids shouted.
"El!" Olivia smacked her hand across his chest.
"Ow, you know I almost got blown up right? You should kiss it better"
"Dad!" Olivia giggled just as Noah rushed into the room.
"El! I'm so glad that you're okay" He hugged El tightly.
"Noah, be careful" Liv warned.
"He's okay" El smiled at the boy before he ruffled his hair.
"He calls you El?" Fin smirked "I thought that only Liv could call him that"
"The Bensons have him wrapped around our fingers, whatever that means" Noah smiled, making everyone laugh.
"Hey Olivia" Ginny McCann smiled as she appeared in the doorway.
"Ginny, thank you for watching Noah" She smiled.
"Of course. I'm glad that you're okay, and it gives me a chance to meet this El I've heard so much about" She smiled, making Olivia blush.
"I'm the very handsome boyfriend that she's been talking about" El smiled.
"Actually, Olivia has been keeping all the details to herself, Noah's the one that's been spilling secrets"
"Oh has she? So what secrets has Noah divulged?" El smirked as he glanced up at Liv.
"The new lock on your bedroom door" Olivia blushed a deep red.
"We're going to have to start tapping his mouth shut" El teased.
"And I have to knock now-"
"Noah, you always had to knock" Liv interrupted him.
"Yes but this time it's because your having sex-"
"Noah!" Olivia's blush got redder as everyone laughed. She felt Elliot squeeze her hand lightly, she looked down at him and found him smiling up at her.
