Chapter Twenty Nine

Bruno moved through the squad room, his jacket thrown over his shoulder. 
"Happy April first everyone" He smiled to everyone as he moved towards his desk. He threw his jacket over his chair before he opened his desk drawer, only to be met with a face full of glitter. 
"Ha! April fools you fool!" Fin laughed before the laughter around the squad room picked up. 
"Wow, did the glitter fairy stop by?" Liv teased as she and El entered the squad room hand in hand. 
"Sargent Tutuola decided to play a prank on me" Bruno grumbled from underneath the glitter. 
"You wanna put in a HR complaint?" Liv asked. 
"No, I'm actually pretty impressed" Bruno admitted with a shrug. 
"Nice one Fin" El smiled, holding his fist out for him to bump. 
"That reminds me, whilst my team is here I thought that I should give this to you" Liv reached into her pocket and pulled out a white stick, handing it over to El he looked it over before he met her eyes once again. 
"You're pregnant?!" 
"Surprise. Apparently you've got some super sperm" She smiled. 
"Holy crap. We're going to have a baby" He smiled widely pulling her into his arms. 
"Happy April fools detective" He dropped his arms from around her, meeting her eyes again. 
"Seriously? That was a low blow Liv" 
"Lower than you leaving me hanging this morning?" She challenged. 
"No, the fake pregnancy test is lower" 
"Its Amanda's from her last pregnancy" She laughed. 
"I agree with Stabler on this one, low blow Liv" Fin agreed, earning a roll of her eyes.  

A few weeks later
Liv lay her head on the toilet seat. She had just finished emptying her stomach for the third morning in a row. 
"Here, take a few sips" El ordered gently, handing her the glass of water. 
"Sorry I woke you again, I just can't shake this bug" 
"I'd rather be awake" He assured her, rubbing his hand along her spine. 
"But I'm all yucky" 
"I love you even when you're yucky" He assured her "I think you should stay home today" 
"No. I'll be fine in an hour or two, I'll go in then" 
"Liv-"
"I promise I'm okay" She assured him with a small smile. 
"Okay. Just take it easy" 
"I will. I promise" He quickly kissed her before she could object "I have vomit breath" She grimaced. 
"I don't care" He smiled "Come on, let's get you back in bed" 
"I can watch you get dressed for work from there" She smirked as he helped her stand up. 
"Yes you can" He chuckled. 

Later that day
El headed into the SVU squad room to pick up Liv after work. 
"Hey everyone. Where's Liv?" 
"She went for coffee, she'll be back soon" Fin told him, earning a nod in response. 
"How was she today?" 
"She didn't puke her guts up again this morning did she?" 
"She did and you know her, she still wanted to come into work" He spotted Liv marching into the squad room and right towards him. She handed him the small white stick and waited as he examined it. 
"Liv, April fools was a few weeks ago" 
"This isn't a joke. When I said you had super sperm I wasn't kidding, this is like a one in a hundred miracle" 
"You're pregnant?" 
"The vomiting every morning for the past few days and I hate the smell of coffee now apparently. I'm pregnant El" 
"Seriously?" 
"You knocked me up. Don't you remember when this little accident happened?" He shook his head and she rolled her eyes before she pressed her lips against his ear "What about when we lived out your fantasy?" She whispered. 
"Oh, that night" She nodded. 
"Your little idea seemed to work. I'm pregnant, El" A wide smirk spread across his lips. 
"I only got that little idea because you brought in that fake test, so this little accident is all you" He smiled, his hand going to her stomach "We're having a baby" 
"We're having a baby" She repeated, her hand covering his on her stomach. 
"We're having a baby" His smile widened before he wrapped his arms around her and connected their lips. 
"Congrats you two" Fin smiled. 
"Congrats Cap, but-"
"Bruno, if the word old or anything similar comes out of your mouth I will fire you" He nodded deciding to end his sentence there. 
"Congrats Cap" He smiled. 
"You might have to help out a bit more around here Fin, you up for that?" Liv asked. 
"If it means I get a new niece or nephew out of it, hell yes I am" He smiled. 
"Okay then" She smiled down at him "It also gives El one less thing to worry about"
"Well, how did this little one get here anyway?" Fin asked. Liv and El shared a look, a silent conversation between their eyes before they looked back at him.
"You don't wanna know" Liv told him as El smirked beside her.
