The week had flown by with a breeze for Fee. Everything was the same, Gojo ignoring her, Lola and Avery bickering, and overall it was just a boring week.Fee sighed, rubbing her eyes that were fighting to shut with exhaustion. She had her first exam this upcoming week and she had been drowning herself in studying.
On Friday, Yuji and Nobara invited her to a party but she generously declined. She needed to focus on her academics- especially if she wanted scholarships for college.
It was now Sunday and the only place she seemed to focus more was the cafe in town. She could've worked there honestly, knowing what each worker said to a customer, and how each type of coffee and tea was made. That's how much time she had spent in the building.
Right now she was studying for calculus- the class Lola and her had. Fee offered Toji and Lola to come study but they both were huge procrastinators, leaving her to study alone.
The topic was frustrating her, making her grip the side of her head with anger. She had been memorizing different equations and solving problems for so long, how could she not have this ingrained in her head?Taking another sip of her now-room temperature coffee, she made a face in disgust. Peering down at her phone to check the time.
Only noon. Fee internally groaned. She had been at the cafe bright and early when it opened.
Pushing away her frustrations, she decided to take another attempt at the practice exam. After carefully reading the question she couldn't help but glance at the answer key, making her drop her pencil in anger.
"How stupid can you be?" She whispered to herself, upset that she had to keep looking at the answer key to start the problem.
She was so lost in thought she didn't hear the door open.
"Can you not solve a single math problem?" She mumbled to herself.
"What's two plus two?" A familiar voice asked next to her.
"Four, idiot." Fee scoffed.
She then put it together that there wasn't anyone sitting at the table with her. She spun her head around to see Gojo staring down at her, his hands shoved into his sweatpant pockets. He was wearing a black hoodie with grey sweats- the sight making Fee drool.
He smirked at her before taking a seat on the opposite side of the booth. She stared at him with a surprised look.
"See, you can answer a simple math question." He mused, turning his attention from her face to the scattered papers on the table.
She couldn't help but roll her eyes. She had forced herself to not think about him all week, but it was unsuccessful. Maybe that was the reason she drowned herself in her studies.
"Too bad calculus isn't 'simple math'." She put up air quotes as he let out a small laugh. Something that was so foreign with him but she cherished hearing it anytime it happened.
Gojo took hold of her practice exam, concentrating on the problem he read.
Fee noticed his concentrated look, his tongue pushed against the inside of his teeth as his eyes scanned the question. Fee couldn't help but blush.
"The answer is A." Gojo tossed the paper back on the table towards her direction. Her eyebrows furrowed as she looked back over the question.
"How did you figure that out without solving it?" She questioned, turning her gaze towards him- who was already staring down at her.
He slightly shrugged, "It's easy. I aced the AP calculus final last year."
Her shoulders dropped. She didn't take Gojo as book smart. She was a year ahead in math technically, but it turns out he was two years ahead in math.
