"Loki, are you ready for the exam today?" I ask. He looks up at me, startled.
"I believe I have studied sufficiently to answer all of the questions," he replies coolly. Looking down at his book, he puffs his cheeks out a little.
"I am so nervous. I studied for 3 hours last night, but I doubt I will ever be prepared for this exam." I try to keep the conversation going, but I know he just wants me to leave him alone again.
"Then perhaps you should try a new course of study." Loki doesn't even look up from his book.
"May I sit with you?" I sit down before he can answer. The exam won't start for another hour, and I should spend the time reviewing some more, as Loki is doing.
After a few minutes Loki stands up, pushing his chair away from the table loudly. He walks off, out of my sight, lost in the rows and rows of bookshelves.
I'm too anxious to study anyway, so I get up and follow him.
"Loki? Loki?"
I whisper down the rows of book? "Loki where are you?" My heart starts to beat a little faster. "Loki?"
"What do you want?" he whispers harshly.
I quicken my pace to reach him. "I just wanted to know where you were."
Finally, Loki turns to look at me. He furrows his brow a little in confusion. "Why?"
I take a deep breath and look down at the floor considering my answer. Should I tell him the truth? I want to kiss him. I've wanted to kiss him for a long time. I wonder if he's ever kissed a girl before, if he's ever thought of kissing me.
"Why did you follow me?" he demands.
A blush begins to bloom on my cheeks. This might be my only chance, and I'm feeling brave because we're alone, and I'm already stressed about the exam. I look up at him, as he glares down at me, expectantly waiting for my reply. Taking a step closer to him, so that I can feel the warmth emanating from his body, I tilt my face towards his.
"Kiss me?" my voice is shakier than I want it to be.
"What?" Loki responds, a little too loudly, making me jump.
"For good luck?" I try.
"Is this a trick? Did Thor put you up to it?" he accuses.
"What? No, no... I'm sorry." I turn to walk away, humiliated, cheeks burning and tears stining my eyes. Loki puts his hand on my shoulder to stop me. His thumb brushes my neck. I freeze, then shiver at the contact.
"You want a kiss, from me?" Loki asks.
I turn to face him again and step towards him. "Yes, please."
Loki puts his hands on my shoulders, leaning into my face. "I haven't kissed a girl before. Have you kissed anyone?" His breath is cool on my cheek.
My heart is racing, my breathing shallow, as I shake my head no, and close my eyes. I lick my lips quickly before moving to meet his.
Loki squeezes my shoulders gently and pulls me towards him a little more before pressing his lips gently to mine, they're soft and cool; an unfamiliar feeling. A thrill of lightning runs along my spine. His kiss is shy and chaste. I press my lips to his more firmly, after a moment I release the pressure enough to part my lips and allow my tongue to dart out. My tongue glides along his lips lightly. Loki's grasp on my shoulders tightens. I can't move my arms to wrap them around his neck, so reach out and press my palms into his stomach. Loki doesn't move for a moment, then suddenly he opens his mouth, pushing his tongue against mine, our teeth clack together as they graze our tongues. The kiss is noisy, tongues, lips, teeth moving too fast and too hard. My stomach is filled with butterflies, an unfamiliar ache builds between my thighs and my head is spinning.
Loki finally breaks the kiss, and takes a deep breath. I have that feeling, as if time has stood still. As I open my eyes slowly and look up him. Our eyes meet, Loki's pupils have devoured his irises, leaving only a thin green circle. He shifts uncomfortably for a moment and I look down to see a strange bulge in this pants. Releasing my shoulders, he tries to conceal it with his hands. I giggle nervously.
"Don't laugh at me!" his tone is defensive.
"I'm sorry I'm not laughing at you, honestly." I say quickly. "Kissing you is so nice."
Loki purses his lips, and cocks an eyebrow at me. "Maybe we can try it again – after our exam."
