"You've gotten yourself into some real trouble this time missy." The police officer remarked as he sat across from the girl, eying her record. His gray mustache twitched whenever the officer wrinkled his nose as he read through the decent files of paper.

The room was small and stiff. The lights were dim and in a cold hue of blue, giving off a vibe that was anything but pleasant.

"Trisha." The old officer sighs, putting the papers away and rubbing his templates trying to regain some energy. "This is the third time-"

"Fourth"

"What...?" The man across from Trisha blinked, irritated by the fact that she had interrupted him.

"This is the fourth time I've been here, sir." Trisha replied dry, yet polite to not bother the man even more than he already was by her presence. The man in uniform looked at her unimpressed, already aware of her tendency to make snarky remarks and instead continued.

"This is the fourth time-" He looked at the girl briefly to make sure she heard his correction of his previous statement "-of us sitting in this room. And frankly this time it ain't looking good." The police officer leaned forward in his chair, clearly unhappy about the development of the entire situation.

He pulled out a picture from one of the files on the table and pushed it over the table for Trisha to inspect.

"What were you thinking?" The Policeman shook his head in disappointment. "Two stab wounds and a broken knee."

"It was self defense!" Trisha insisted as she took a quick glance at the picture in front of her. It showed an x-ray image of what appeared to be a broken knee and next to it a close-up picture of some bloody and nasty looking stab wounds right above the abdomen.

"He attacked me with a knife and I reacted." Trisha insisted again, feeling the need to defend her actions.

The officer thought, silently and calmly observed the girl. "Even so, you did more damage than you should have, even for self defense, Trisha. And given your previous records this doesn't come to a surprise to us. Last time, you still got away with your self defense excuse, even if you broke that kid's nose, but this time..." The police officer leaned back in his chair, clearly worried about the girl.

"This could already be considered a murder attempt."

Trisha started definitely at the officer, not happy with how her actions were perceived. Her blood froze a little when she heard these words out of the police officer's mouth.

"What was I supposed to do instead?! Let these guys stab me first and have me hospitalized instead." the girl became almost vivid as she tried to hide the tears forming in her eyes.

"No!" The Policemen replied, getting more frustrated as well. "You could have left it at the knee, made a run for it to the closest store, seeking refuge and called the police. You knew the kids. You knew their faces. The Police would have taken care of them."

"Sure." The girl stared at the Police men with her hazeled colored eyes, her fake color. "Just like you took care of them last time. And the time before. Oh, and obviously the time before that as well." mocking the policemen, Trisha leaned back in her chair, pouty and in need of validation.

"Trisha." The Policeman was more stern and punctuated. "I feel like you don't understand the situation at hand. This is no longer a case of self defense. His parents are suing you for second degree murder and taking you to court. Unless you have a really good lawyer, this will not end well for you."

Trisha wanted to speak up but shut her mouth, a sudden revelation on her face as she crossed her arms and looked to the ground. For once in her life, she didn't know what to say.
