~ Chapter Thirteen ~

"No... why are they here...?" Madi mumbles to herself. She immediately runs to Lando's driver room with no emotion. She's always been like that when something has upset her. "Who do I need to murder this time?" he says as he sees Madi with no emotion. Leo is fast asleep on Lando so Madi doesn't have to worry about holding herself together around him. "They're here..." she says. Lando immediately knows who she's talking about and holds her close next to Leo. "I'll handle it" he says. "I just don't know how they are here.... no one here would have given them passes to come into the paddock... unless... Max" she says with a sudden realisation. "Why would Max do that?" he asks. Lando & Max Verstappen have been friends for quite a while and he couldn't imagine him doing something like that. "He's always hated me and always thought that I've been with you for the money even though we've been together since we were 15. he's probably also pissed off that last year he was winning races back to back and now you're winning them back to back this year. he hasn't won since the start of this season and I bet he's done this so you would be more distracted in making sure I'm ok while they are here than actually racing so you don't win and he gets a win..." she says. Lando immediately has the realisation. It was definitely Max. Madi can see the anger building up in Lando. "Please don't do anything stupid... it's not a big deal..." she says while trying to hold back her tears. "Max will regret trying to play these games" he says before passing Leo to Madi and storming out of his driver room.

"What do you think you're doing?" Lando says with pure anger as he finally makes his way to the Red Bull Hospitality and sees Max laughing with his mates. "what? I didn't do anything" Max says with a smirk knowing exactly what he did. Lando takes a deep breath, trying to control his anger. "Max, you know exactly what you're doing" he says through gritted teeth. "And it won't go unpunished". "Calm down, Lando. it's not a big deal" he says with a small laugh as he sees Lando all angry. Lando wasn't going to take it. He hesitates but the anger takes over so he punches Max in the jaw. "You fucking stay away from my girl. She's already going through enough and she doesn't need anything else" Lando says. "you better be fucking careful now. you better watch every fucking step you take. Tell Madi to watch every step she takes too. She better be extra careful with that baby as well as Leo" Max says. "Don't you dare threaten my girl or my kids. I will go full on crazy if you do anything to them" Lando says before going back to his driver room.

"What did you do to Max?" Madi says as Lando walks into his driver room and sees Leo still fast asleep but cuddling Madi's arm. "He was threatening both of us. And our babies so I punched him, I got your parents out of the paddock too and they're on a permanent ban" he says. "Thank you... Also what did he say about us and our babies...?" she asks while holding onto her bump. "he was just telling me to make sure we watch our steps because he will fuck shit up" he says. She holds Lando's hand and puts it on her bump "he's not actually gonna do anything is he?" she asks. "I don't know... I don't think so, but I can't be sure.  Max is unpredictable and he does have some connections" he says. They just have to hope.

They haven't let go of each other. The whole morning they haven't separated once. Both are too scared to leave each other's arms but they have to now that Lando is getting in the car. "please be careful... max could literally do anything to you in this race..." she says as Lando plants a million kisses on her face. "I promise I will be careful" he says. "I love you, daddy" Leo says as he hugs Lando. Lando places a small kiss on Leo's lips and nose. "I love you too, Leo. Be good for mummy while I'm in the car" he says. "I love you, Lan. More than my life" she says. "I love you more, Mads" he says as he places a soft kiss on her lips before putting his helmet on and getting in the car. She makes sure she's connected to his radio and the race starts. Lando in first for ages. Could he actually win his home Grand Prix? Fuck. Max starts to catch up and becomes extremely dangerous and then pushes Lando off which sends him flying into the barriers where his car explodes into flames. Literally an exact copy of the Romain Grosjean crash. "Lan...? Lan!!?? Lando??? Baby??? Answer me!!!" Madi screams down the radio. No response... nothing.
