Our Forbidden Love: Against The World

~ Chapter Seventeen ~

They were allowed to go back home this morning. Madi was complaining pretty much all morning due to the baby constantly kicking on her bladder. Now they are back in England and at the shops. Madi runs to Lando who has the shopping trolley and she fills it with at least 5 packs of adult nappies. Lando can't help but laugh as he sees the trolley filled with adult nappies. It was both embarrassing and hilarious at the same time. He leans in and kisses her cheek, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "stop laughing. These nappies are the best idea I've had during both pregnancies. now I don't have to go running to the toilet if baby starts kicking my bladder so unless you want me to pee on you... stop laughing" Madi says. "Okay, okay. You win this round, sweetheart" Lando says while trying to contain his laughter, placing a gentle hand on her growing belly. "I think we should get these and some other essentials. We might as well be prepared" he says before Leo grabs Madi's hand and starts dragging her to the toy aisle. "you're paying for it if Leo wants a toy" she says to Lando which just causes him to laugh. "Okay fine. Anything to make my little boy happy" he says. Leo picks out a small teddy and doesn't let go of it for the rest of the day. Even when they get home.

"I'm starting to think he's never gonna let go of that teddy" Madi says as she watches Leo on the floor cuddling his teddy while her & Lando are stood in the kitchen. "Maybe it's his new best friend, sweetheart. Who knows? Kids can be funny that way" he says. Lando then gets an idea. He's seen this on tiktok constantly and wants to see what Madi thinks. He moves behind her and puts his hands under her bump and lifts it so all the weight comes off her. "oh my god that feels nice... it feels like the baby isn't even there... Can you do this for the rest of the pregnancy?" she asks. "I wish I could, baby. but unfortunately I can't stay behind you all day holding your bump up" he says before lowering it back and she immediately goes back to being grumpy as she feels the weight of the baby again. You would think that Madi was carrying triplets with how big she is but there was definitely only one baby. Definitely a chonker from what Madi has said. She makes her way to the sofa and lays down while still being grumpy. "That's not fair" she says. Lando plops down next to her, rubbing her back gently "Listen, what if I made dinner tonight? That way you can rest and unwind a little bit. How does that sound? We can even watch a movie or something" he says. "If you make dinner then you might blow up our apartment. we could just go get McDonald's on something... I really don't wanna cook at all..." she says while holding her bump in her hands while he rubs her back. "Alright, alright. McDonald's it is" He chuckles, getting up from the sofa and ruffling Leo's hair as he passes by. "You ready for some chicken nuggets, buddy?" He adds. Leo claps his hands and cuddles his teddy while standing up on the couch which makes both Lando & Madi smile.

They make it to McDonalds a few minutes later and basically order half the menu. A chicken nugget happy meal for Leo, a Big Mac meal for Lando & a 20 piece chicken nugget box, Big Mac, fries & McFlurry for Madi. Her excuse is: she's eating for two. Leo is definitely the most adorable while eating. They get back home after that and Leo immediately falls asleep in Lando's arms. "Okay, sweetheart, let's get you tucked in" he says as he carries him to his bedroom. Once there, he tucks Leo into bed, making sure he is comfortable and warm. "Night, Leo. Daddy loves you" he says as he leaves a small kiss on his head before closing the door and going back into the living room with Madi. "Leo must have been so tired, poor baby" she says. Lando kisses her forehead "Yeah, he's out like a light" He settles down beside her, gently running a hand through her hair. "You okay, sweetheart?" He asks. " besides the insane back cramps and the fact that I can't sleep anymore because I'm pregnant" she says before grabbing her laptop and looking on amazon. Lando sighs and ruffles his hair "Well, maybe a heating pad would help with the cramps?" He suggests, knowing how she hates taking pills. "That's what I'm looking for. and a pregnancy pillow... then I might actually start getting some sleep. they cost so much though..." she says while giving him puppy dog eyes as a sign to give her his card. "Fine, fine, here you go" He hands her his card, knowing she could be very persistent when she puts her mind to it. "Just make sure to get a good night's sleep after this, okay?" He says. "You get paid more than me anyways. you're the f1 driver here, I'm just your race engineer" she says with a small laugh. "That's true, but remember, you're the reason I'm the F1 driver" he says. "I guess I am... I am the one who took us on that karting date..." she says while thinking back to them as teenagers. "And I'm glad you did. It led to us being here today" He brushes a strand of hair away from her face, stroking her cheek with the back of his hand. "Now, how about we go to bed?" He suggests. "yeah... can you give me a back massage too?" she says with puppy dog eyes. "Only because I love you more than anything" he says before softly kissing her.
