Chapter 18
Farrah
I haven't seen Arron for about a year. Since that day, I've only seen him in passing once. He looked crazy. I didn't dare approach him with that wild look in his eyes. Actually, it's been a while since I've Dreamt. It's been half a year. I've decided to live with Abyasa until I become an adult. This might sound crazy, but I can't imagine living without him now. I feel unburdened. But it has to mean that Arron did something, or that he's doing something. Which worries me. Aaron hasn't always been the most stable. I doubt that he's up to anything good. I start to pace again. Abyasa wraps his arms around me.
"What's up?" He asks me.
"I'm worried about a friend," I say leaning into his hug.
"Sandi? I thought they moved."
"No, not Sandi. They're fine, the friend that I'm worried about... I haven't seen in a while."
"Is it a boy?" He asks, poking me on the cheek. His smile is dazzling.
"No, you know that you're the only boy in my life," I say, rolling my eyes.
"I don't know why. My girl is amazing," He says, hugging me a little bit tighter. I can't help but laugh. I want to stay here. I want to stay with him. Be with him for the rest of my life. Now, I can't imagine a world without him. Crazy how people change.
"Yeah, yeah. But," I clear my throat, "He, uh, he actually is a boy." Abyasa's grip loosens.
"Oh, really? What happened to him? Why haven't I met this guy?"
"I've never really seen him either. Or, really, I've never seen the real him. He has so many walls, and too many fears. I can't— couldn't get through them."
"Well, if someone's not willing to let you in, you need to be ready to let them go. I know from experience. If someone doesn't want you to see them at their lowest, they don't really think of you as a friend."
I sigh. "You're right. I know you are, it's just... I haven't seen him in so long, and the last time I saw him he was doing something reckless. I can't help but be worried because I think of him as a friend. Even after all of this time."
Abyasa brushes the hair away from my face. "Hey, it'll be okay. I'm sure you'll see him, and he'll be alright. Everything will get better." He kisses my forehead.
"Yeah," I whisper. "Everything will be okay."
