Steven BLUE-niverse (Season 1)

chapter 7 message from yellow

Greg and steven where instructed to stay in their room and away from blue as much as possible, they where only allowed to leave for the bathroom but only if pearl guided them there. Blue sat in complete darkness, covering most of her face with her hood and preparing for her sister to call her at any second. Blue was lightly shaking, she was terrified to how yellow would react if she found out what blue had been doing these past years, how she'd basically ran away from their homeworld to go be with a human man and have his child.

In blue's hand she held the "diamond-line" a 4 sided diamond shaped device used only to call her sisters, to choose what diamond to call you'd turn the sides to connect the colours together. After all the wait, the diamond line finally turned yellow, opening into a screen, the entire room was engulfed in bright yellow light and there she appeared on the other side, yellow diamond herself.

Steven and Greg stayed in their rooms together, the storm was still battling beach city violently, attacking with heavy amounts of rain, wind and lightning. Steven couldn't sleep with this chaos and all the thoughts he had running through his mind on what his mother could be talking about with this other diamond he'd heard about. "I can't do this!", Steven complained to his father, "I gotta see what mum is doing!", Greg quickly hushed him and said "don't go out there! Your mother's family are very serious people! If they found out about you she'd be in big trouble!"

"Blue...where are you", yellow asked condescendingly , blue already started to panic on the inside, she was convinced yellow already knew she was hiding something from her. "I-i am right now on some old moon base of mine! I've been planning to look for new colonies and found a very promising solar system both of us could share!" Blue lied, putting on her best confident voice and praying to the stars it worked. Yellow raised and eyebrow, "solar system?" She asked, wanting to know more info, blue started to noticely shake and become anxious, pearl tried to gesture to her that she was becoming very nervous but blue didn't notice.

"YOU CAN'T GO OUT THERE!", Greg yelled to steven, dragging him from the door and throwing him onto his bed, "WHY!? IS MUM ASHAMED OF ME!? I WANT TO BE A RULER LIKE HER! WHY WON'T SHE LET ME LEARN!!", Steven yelled, Greg could see he was going to cry so quickly went to console Steven, if he started to cry it would cause everything to go very, very wrong. "Listen..." Greg said, trying to explain this to steven eventhough it would be much better if blue did, "those other diamonds, they really aren't the nicest people, especially that yellow one she's speaking with now, blue wants to protect you, she fears the other diamonds will treat you badly", Greg hugged Steven and tried to calm him down, Steven looked up at greg, fighting back tears, "w-why won't they like me???" He asked.

"Should we meet up to discuss and explore this new solar system together?" Yellow asked, blue was now way to caught up in the lie and didn't know what to say, she felt sick from panicking so much and felt like she might just pass out from this call. "N-no, yellow, I'm sorry I don't think I can do that right now...erm listen, I'm really sorry we haven't met face to face in a while I've been very busy and....well, I've been trying to change you know..." blue really struggled to say anything now, she tried to change the subject but yellow just rolled her eyes, "I remember you'd always sing to me about how I need to be a better leader so I've been trying...trying to stop grieving and being so miserable, and I found a something, someone who helped me!". What blue said here interested yellow, a smirk appeared on her face, "whom?" She asked, "who was the one who saved you from this depressing and wasteful life style of endless wailing and rolling around in your own misery?", blue didn't say anything, she realised the mistake she just made, she just told yellow diamond of her dear Greg, this just made blue feel worse, now it was impossible to hide yellow all the shaking and sweating that had taken over her body.

"Was it me blue?" Yellow sarcastically asked. Trying to shut her sister up and make sure she didn't mention Greg anymore, she awkwardly answered, "YES! Yes yellow! It was you, you always handle things so well compared to me ,I...I just feel to much, I'm too sad all the time, I want to be just like you", she lied as best as she could, trying to be dramatic and it seemed to work, yellow loved it. Yellow laughed and said "well, why don't we meet then? You can learn more from me and I want to see how you changed, I want to see the leader blue that's been hidden from us for so long", the call ended after that and blue looked back at her pearl with a horrified expression, "oh stars what have I done!?" She exclaimed, lying down on the couch to try and calm herself down.

Not long after the call ended, pearl told Steven and Greg they could come out their room and see blue. Greg was shocked at the awful state she had put herself in and how she was very close to becoming hysterical, Steven wanted to ask her about yellow but could see it wasn't the right time so he asked pearl. "So what did yellow diamond say to mum?" Steven asked pearl, "she wants to see her" pearl replied, "oh is that why she's so freaked out?" Steven asked, "no" pearl replied, "because she's now stuck in a lie".
