Its less than a week until Valentines Day, and I don't think I can wait that long for Michael to reveal himself. Okay, that sounds kind of gross, but that's kind of how I'm looking at it. I mean, this'll be the first time that I'm getting to meet him in person. I decided to go talk to Calum today at lunch, seeing that we haven't talked in a while. A while for us is like two or three days but still.

Before first period, I went by my locker to find a note from Michael. This note was different than the others, it was written on a beautiful pale pink color, while the others were written on plain ole white paper.

Dearest Mara,
I can't stand tobear the wait
Can we just go on a date?

Sorry, that's my shitty way of asking you out on a date. Since I can't seem to wait until Valentines Day.

I guess if you want to go out tonight, let me know...

On the bottom of the note, there was a phone number, that is most likely his. I think I want to talk to Calum about this before I give him a definate answer.

I walked up to Calum where he was sitting at lunch, he looked up at me and said, "What?" Ouch. That hurt a little bit.

"I wanted to try and make up with you, but if you're going to be a dick, I'll leave." I spoke, kind of harshly. Harshly for me, anyway.

He sighed, "Mars, wait." I turned back around, obviously waiting for him to say something to me. "I'm really sorry, I couldn't stop thinking about how Blake broke your heart and I know how guys are and I don't want it to happen again. Shit, I sound like an overprotective older brother. I should sound like a best friend. But, I thought about it and you've been so much happier the past week or so since he gave you that first note, so if you think it'll work out, I'll stand by and listen to you ramble about him." He finished with a smirk.

I couldn't help but laugh at him, "You can always make me laugh, you asshat."

"So how're things going with loverboy?" He asked, wiggling his eyebrows.

"He said he couldn't wait to see me any longer, so he asked me to go out with him tonight and gave me his phone number." I rambled off pretty quickly.

"Do you want to go?"

"Kind of, but I'm nervous"

"If you want, I'll go with you until you meet him." He offered, with a small smile.

I smiled back. God. My best friend is so great.
