Evan's POV

I was curious and hypnotized
By your infectious maniacal laughter
So much that I had to hear more
For any reason at all

We agreed to work with each other
We would play, record, enjoy
And we united two groups
That would later become our family

What used to be weekly meetings
Turned to twice, then thrice
Which became daily goodmornings
And sleepy goodnights

I got used to your voice
But not once have I seen your face
Not even your eyes, the windows to your soul
And I got curious

So curious that I tried to make you fall for me
Enough so that you would show me your secret
But it back fired
And I fell for you instead

How unlucky of me
That I fell for such a mystery such as you
Yet how lucky of me
That you fell in love with me too

And now that youre here
Ready to finally face me
Ready to remove the facade
I wonder, am I ready?

Yes
I knew I love you enough to love
Whatever is under the mask
To love the real you

Then you removed it
You showed me all of you
And that's when I saw it
The monster

Silence
That's all I could respond with
As I took in each and every part of you
Including all the scars and imperfections

Now I understood
Why you were so afraid
How hideous was the monster
That was now exposed to me

The scars that glittered your face
The burnt mark by your jaw line
The eyes that held fear
All laid in front of me

It became clear why you kept secret
The monster that you hid
No, not the monster that bore these imperfections
But the one that caused it

I couldnt speak a word
For all I wanted to say were words of anger
For whoever did these to you
My love, my perfect love

So I hugged you
That was all I could do to show
That I would love you no matter what
Because your scars didnt matter

I now understood why you were afraid
To open yourself to anyone
For fear that they would hurt you
Like this monster did to you

But that's okay
No one can hurt you now
Because I'll be here to protect you
From any other monsters

I love you and will continue to love you
Because I love your Delirious laugh
And simply just you,
