The Brocks

"Hurry up, Tam!" you yell as you grab the rest of your necessities. 

"I'm going as fast as I can for 6 in the morning!" Tam responds.  You meet up in the kitchen and Tiergan shakes his head at you guys. He lifts up the leaping crystal the Council gave him for your trip. You thank him and leap to Kansas. When you arrive, you find yourselves in front of a house. There's a note in the Elvin language. 

 Tam and Y/n,

These lovely humans have decided to take you in. They don't know about elves so say nothing on the matter. Their names are Lesa and Layne Brock. They have a son your age named Cole and a son a couple years older named Gage. Be nice and hail us if you decide you want to go to school.

-The Council

You and Tam exchange a look and knock.

"Colby! Can you get that?!" a male voice rings out. You and Tam exchange another glance.

"Sure!" another male voice calls out. You assume this is Colby. The door opens to reveal a 15-year-old boy with brown hair, blue eyes, and an emo look. You can tell that he and Tam will get along.

"Hi! I'm Colby. Ignore the mess. Mom's been running around all night to get this place ready. I assume your Y/n and Tam?" the boy says.

"Yeah," you say, shaking the boy's outstretched hand, Tam doing the same moments later.

"Are you British?" another voice asks, female, this time.

"Yes," Tam says, since he was paying attention to your background story the Council gave.

"The accent's hot," a male voice says. He also has brown hair and blue eyes. He looks like an older version of Colby. You assume this is Gage.

"Don't mind him. He's... different," Colby says, glaring at his brother with a look that say, "Be nice."

"I understand different. My brother is insane," you say.

"Yeah, he is," Tam says, remembering Keefe's Neverseen fiasco. Not that he's upset about it. That's how he met you. He smiles to himself.

"Come in. I'm sure our parents would love to meet you," Gage says. You and Tam enter, and Colby closes the door behind you.

"MOM! DAD! THEY'RE HERE!" Colby calls out. A female comes out with a male right behind her. Lesa and Layne, undoubtedly.

"Hey. I'm Lesa. You are staying here while in Kansas. Do you want anything to eat?" the female asks.

"Please. It was a long flight," Tam says. Lesa leads you and Tam to the dining room, and you finally acknowledge your surroundings. It's a nice home, by human standards. Roomy and you can practically see the love the family has for each other. The dining table is a nice mahogany with comfortable chairs and homey decorations. The kitchen looks like an average kitchen, with appliances that are nice. Not too expensive, but still nice. The living room, which was right near the door, had worn, leather couches with a decent-sized TV. Solid 60". There's an upstairs, but you haven't been up there yet. Two dogs come running downstairs. Colby picks up a small, brown one while the other runs to you and Tam.

"Hi, Foxi!" he says in a baby voice. You pick up the pug that ran up to you and Tam. 

"Who's this cutie?" you ask.

"That's Koki," Colby responds.

"Hi Koki! You're adorable, aren't you?" you ask.  A smile forms on Tam's face as you pass Koki to him. 

"He's better than Princess Purryfins," Tam acknowledges.

"Princess Purryfins?" Gage asks.

"My sister's cat. Don't ask me about why she chose the name. Because I have zero clue," Tam explains.
