Fast forward to two days later. Friday, December 22, 2023. You had been using the past two days to shop for late Christmas gifts and pack. You'd never been to Hyogo before so you were also looking forward to treating it like a vacation almost.

Any time away from ballet was vacation--even though there were times you missed it. With the upcoming show, you were relieved to have almost two weeks off.

Atsumu had called you this morning to make sure you were still heading to Osaka to meet him. And to...stay the night. You still couldn't believe you agreed to that part. You probably thought about that more than the family Christmas. It's not like he was inviting you to sleep with him.

Just to stay the night to make the trip easier.

Which made perfect sense and wasn't weird at all. But you couldn't help but make it weird. Because it wasn't often you were in situations like this.

However, you were prepared for your hour-long drive to Osaka. You had curated a playlist with songs you knew you wouldn't skip that was almost the same length as the ride. Which was about an hour and fifteen minutes according to Google Maps.

It was a little after noon now, and you had decided to stop to get snacks before hitting the road. Before leaving you did a quick glance around your apartment to take note of where everything was. You didn't think anything was going to happen while you were gone but the chances of a break-in were never low. Most of your valuable things were going with you anyway.

Like, your portable devices.

You had packed two bags—one with your belongings and the other with the gifts for the Miya family.

Finally, when you did leave the apartment building and got out to your car you got a phone call. To your surprise, it wasn't Atsumu this time. It was an unsaved number that seemed oddly familiar.

You furrowed your brows at the phone as you unlocked your car and tossed your two bags in the back seat. You contemplated answering but thought of the incident from maybe a week ago. When your mom called. Even though you were sure this number was her you didn't want to answer it. It couldn't have been a very important call anyway since the contact wasn't saved.

That's what you decided to tell yourself at least before you got into the front seat of your car and buckled up. Luckily it hadn't started snowing yet like it was supposed to. So you could beat any bad weather, as long as you made the convenient store trip first.

Even better luck for you that there was one not too far from your apartment so the dive was quick. You rushed in with your favorite snacks in mind because you'd need them for four car rides.
