You were amazed at how nothing in the house had changed much from when you were last there. "Do you remember when me and Ko would play hide and seek and he pretended to never see me under that table?" You ask your dad as you point to the table in the dining room.
He seemed to be taken aback by the mention of your older brother and he widened his eyes glancing at Atsumu. "Oh, I told him already," you tell your dad and he seems even more shocked at that fat. "What bout your—" before he can finish the sentence you shake your head to cut him off.
"Okay then," he nods "I bet the two of you are probably hungry, I can make something while you get settled in," he suggests, and your mouth starts to water at the thought of your dad's cooking. "That sounds great," you smile "And actually I wanted to go show Atsumu the beach," you tell him and your dad's eyes light up. "Have fun then," he smiles "Hopefully I'm done when you get back,"
You smile at your dad once more before grabbing Atsumu's arms to drag him to your childhood bedroom. When you opened the door you were happy to see nothing had changed at all.
"Very pink," Atsumu noted behind you as he set your stuff on your old bed. To be honest your room was just as Atsumu had imagined it to be. Very girly and you could tell whoever occupied the room wanted to be a ballerina by the posters plastered all over the room. "Who's that?" he questions pointing at one of the posters.
"That's Misty Copeland," you smile at the signed poster "She's an American ballet dancer—she's amazing," you quip as you admire the poster.
You turn to see Atsmu trying to zip up his coat and you reach out a hand to stop him. "You probably don't need that," you tell him helping him take it off. "I don't know if you noticed but it doesn't really snow here, and it's quite nice outside right now," you inform the man taking his coat from him and tossing it onto your bed.
"Oh I didn't notice the snow part," He admits as he recalls the ride to the house. You laugh at his cluelessness before you have him follow you back through the house. When you see your dad again he's in the kitchen and he had just ended a phone call.
"Who were you on the phone with?" you question being nosey. "Oh it was a bill collector," he dismisses "You to go ahead I don't want Astumu to miss out on the beach!" your dad urges the two of you to leave.
You're now growing suspicious of his dismissive behavior and you can already smell a weird surprise stirring from your dad. This is what you had meant by he was bad at keeping secrets--sure he could lie over the phone but not in person. You could sense his energy shift from a mile away.
