You and Atsumu had played on the same team and had Himari as your third teammate. One of her friends decided to just keep score while the other three were on the opposite team. It was safe to say that Himari and Atsumu absolutely carried your team to victory but you did get the hang of it near the end.
The teens thank you guys for playing with them and you get a big group photo and wish them a Merry Christmas before departing. "I'm so shocked teens wouldn't wanna be at home during Christmas," you point out as you put your coat back on behind Atsumu. "Seriously? In high school, our team would come play at some point after or before dinner just because,"
You nodded at his response as if you understood but you still didn't get it. When you still lived in Okinawa you loved breaks because you could spend as much time with your dad as possible if you didn't have rehearsal. Not to mention the first few years of being at Hana Sasaki Ballet you weren't making much money until you became a favorite.
If you could now you'd be in Okinawa with him. But every other year you're too busy to find time to get tickets to go home and you know your dad would yell at you.
He preferred you putting your craft over him but you didn't like doing so. Besides he was getting to that age where anything could happen to him. You didn't even like the thought creeping into your mind as often as it did. Which is why you call him just about every day.
Your sudden silence and concentrated expression caught Atsumu by surprise as you exited the gym. "What's wrong?" he questions snapping you from your thoughts. "I miss my dad that's all," you sigh quietly. The blond gets a bit tense at the mention of your dad before he puts a hand on your shoulder.
"Actually," he starts before taking in a deep breath and stopping in his tracks. "I have another gift for you," he pauses and you turn to give him a confused stare. "Another one? Atsumu you seriously don't have to—" he cuts you off by putting a hand up at you and grabbing something from his coat pocket.
You furrow your brows at the pink envelope he handed to you. "Just look," he says as you cautiously reach for the envelope. As you went to open it you were trying to guess what it was before you revealed it. There weren't many things you could think of that would come in an envelope—aside from money.
Plus if that would've been the gift you wouldn't have accepted it.
So picture the surprise plastered across your face when you saw two tickets and read the contents on them. "Round trip to...Okinawa?" you mutter and as the words leave your mouth you feel your heart pump out of your chest.
You read it ten times over as if you were sure you read it wrong. "Wait seriously?" you question glancing at Atsumu through blurry vision. Your voice was getting shaky and you felt as if you were too quiet when you asked. "We have to leave super early in the morning though, I wanted to make sure you'd get to spend enough time with your dad since you don't get too—"
His explanation is interrupted when you leap toward him to pull him into a tight hug. "Thank you so much," you say burying your face into his shoulder. He was even more tense than before but you felt him ease down when he returned the hug.
"Seriously it's nothin' you deserve to spend time with him," You began to sniffle trying to stop tears from falling onto his shoulder. "Does he know?" you question moving your head to look at the blond.
Instantly his face melts into a look of empathy at the sight of your watery eyes. How could you be such a pretty crier? "Yeah he knows, I reached out to him," he confirms.
"How?" you pull your arms away from the blond and start to wipe any tears that managed to fall. "Emiko was a big help with that part," he admits and you smile at the thought of the two talking about doing this for you. "I feel like saying thank you isn't enough—I can't put into words how thankful I am," you ramble.
Atsumu chuckles at your rambling and pats your shoulder. "It's fine I get it—but I bet you're pretty excited now, right?" You nod at the question and follow along with Atsumu as he starts walking again. "I'm super excited—minus the fact that you said we're leaving early. How early exactly?"
He takes a deep breath and you hear him suck in the air before he goes, "5 in the morning," Your jaw dropped and you craned your neck to glance at the man to see if he was joking. "You're serious?"
"Very,"
"And does your family know we're leaving?"
"Yes,"
You let out a sigh of relief but you also can't help but feel bad. "But I feel like I just met them and now we're leaving,"
"Trust me you'll have plenty of opportunities to see them again—I visit as often as possible," he says. "Besides you don't get to see your dad you shouldn't feel bad," he adds and you agree wholeheartedly—but still you feel bad. "We'll get to say goodbye at least," you point out and Atsumu laughs.
"Exactly—only think about the positives!"
