When you got out of your car and saw Atsumu leaving his black car that was a few parking spots down--head in his phone. "Wow!" you shout catching his attention. "Asked me to the park but aren't giving me any attention, that's new," you say as you get closer to the blond and he laughs. "Alright, now I was just texting my brother back." he quips with an eye roll.

You fight back a smile and playfully roll your eyes before the two of you start heading towards the trail in the park. "So why did you want to meet up?" you ask pulling out the gloves he gave you from your pocket and putting them on your hands.

Atsumu eyed the gloves as you put them on and smiled to himself. "I just wanted to see you since I was in the area," he shrugs putting his hand into his coat pockets. "Oh right, you were shopping. What for?" you ask, kicking past the light snow covering the trail.

"Christmas is next week," he informs you and your eyes widen. "Oh shit you're right!" you exclaim. "I completely forgot," you wince. The last time you celebrated Christmas was with your dad when you still lived in Okinawa. Ever since the most you did was stay home, watch Christmas movies, and call your dad.

"It's okay, happens to the best of us," Atsumu speaks snapping you out of your thoughts. "If you're not doing anything you should come with me to Hyogo--my family would love you."

His offer caught you off guard and you feel your words get caught in your throat. 'Damn, this guy is forward.' You can't conjure up a verbal response and just nod cautiously at the fake blond's suggestion. "You don't have to, I was just suggesting--unless you have plans with your family of course!" he corrects himself and you laugh awkwardly.

"I don't actually," you tell him letting out a deep sigh. "I'll think about that offer though." you manage to say and you watch as his eyes light up. "Don't keep me waiting for an answer," he jokes and you laugh before rolling your eyes.

"So what do you normally do for Christmas then?"

You don't want to answer because you think your answer sounds sad and lonely when you say it in your head. You could only imagine the disgust that might appear on Atsum's face. Until you remember your date on Thursday. He wouldn't react like that.

"I watch Christmas movies in my apartment and call my dad for a while," you tell him and you're looking up at the passing trees now admiring how beautiful they looked covered in snow.

"Hey that doesn't sound too bad, whats your favorite Christmas movie?" he asks curiously and you glance over at him to see him looking at you with a pensive look on his face. "Do you want to sit on a bench?" you ask changing the subject briefly.

Atsumu furrows his eyebrows and tilts his head. "I haven't seen that one..." he trails off and you think he's trying to recall a movie by that name. "No, I'm asking you if you want to sit down." You laugh while bringing one of your gloved hands up to your mouth to muffle the laugh.

"Oh yeah, I knew that," Atsumu scoffs while looking around for a nearby bench. "Sure you did," you nod and the both of you walk over to a snow-covered bench.

The athlete wipes away the thin layer of snow and gestures for you to take a seat first before he sits next to you.

"It All Began When I Met You," you spoke followed by a heavy sigh when you took your seat on the bench. "I have that on DVD," Atsumu says angling his body to face you while leaning his back onto the bench.

"Me too!" you exclaim sitting up and leaning closer to Atsumu out of excitement. "Maybe we can watch it together..." Atsumu pauses looking away from you briefly before looking back at you and adding "When you come to Hyogo with me." When he adds it there's a huge grin on his face and you can't help but roll your eyes for the umpteenth time.

"When do you leave for Hyogo?" you question and his grin only grows wider--if even possible. "The 23rd," he tells you and you grab your phone from your pocket and turn it on. Your phone showed that it was December 17, 2023, a Sunday. You had met Atsumu maybe a week and a half ago and he was inviting you to join him and his family for Christmas.

In any other case, you'd think he was a red flag immediately just because of how fast-paced he seemed to be. Yet somehow you didn't see him as a red flag. You recall your date again and you're almost one hundred percent positive he's a nice guy. So why not join him and his family for Christmas?

"So should I meet you in Osaka on the morning of the 23rd?" you ask crossing one of your legs over the other and resting your hand on your knee. Atsumu goes into thought for a moment staring off into space and you patiently wait for a response. "Actually what if you stay the night at my place the night before to save time," he suggests and you can only think of his boldness again.

For a moment you're silent, then you uncross your legs and cross your arms over just below your chest. "I don't mind," you agree and Atsumu is surprised but doesn't show it. "Sounds like a plan then." he nods and you nod with him.

The both of you sit there and continue to talk for three hours. Atsumu asked you about ballet and you asked him about volleyball. By the time another hour had passed, the sun had started to set which caused you to jump from the bench seat. "What time is it?" you ask not reaching for your phone because Atsumu had already reached for his. "5:10," he told you and your lips parted slightly.

"No way we talked for that long," you mumbled and Atsumu stood up from the bench and stretched his arms. "Time flies when you're havin' fun," he quirks and you shake your head at his joke.

"We should get going though, I have something to go to tomorrow," you tell him and he agrees. "Yeah me too," he nods and you both start heading back to the parking lot. "So do you like the gloves?" Atsumu asks watching you adjust the gloves on your hands. "They're alright," you sigh dramatically. "Wish they were merch for a better team like....who are those guys... the Alders?" you question trying to recall any knowledge you had on V. League volleyball.

Clearly, you said something right to get Atsumu offended just like you wanted to. "Yeah, I'm un-inviting you to my family Christmas," he pouted while crossing his arms over his chest. "I was looking forward to watching 'It All Began When I Met You' and staying the right at your place..." you teased picking up your pace so you were steps ahead of the man.

"Wait whaddya mean by that?" he asks trying to catch up to you in a few steps. "Oh look there's my car, goodnight Atsumu!" you wave before jogging up to your car. The door didn't unlock until you grabbed the keys out of your pocket and hit the button twice before getting in.

When you looked out your window you saw Atsumu standing where you had left him shaking his head with his arms crossed.

You plastered the biggest smile on your face before waving again and driving off.
