When Thursday night came you still couldn't believe you had agreed on the date with Atsumu. A week ago you were swearing off even entertaining this guy and now you're in your bathroom getting ready for a sushi date with him.
Had you gone the whole week without mentioning the date to Andre and Elora? Yes. It wasn't hard either and you didn't feel bad for doing so. It's not like anything was going to happen between the two of you.
You didn't even give Atsumu a way to contact you, you only told him you'd meet him at the restaurant at eight o'clock. Part of you had considered trying to sabotage the date, making yourself as unappealing as possible. But the thought of you doing things you'd consider embarrassing made you cringe and you decided against it.
On your way out of your apartment, you head to the parking lot and check the time on your phone. You had fifteen minutes to get to the restaurant which was perfect because it was only ten minutes away by drive. You spent most of the drive listening to classical music at a lowered volume.
Most people would be anxious about having a first day with a guy as good-looking as Atsumu. But in this case, you felt quite the opposite, you were calm and had no nerves in your stomach. You were positive nothing would come out of the date. No feelings and no interest in him whatsoever. You were confident in your self-control.
When you arrive in the parking lot of the restaurant you start to feel dread hang over you. Before you turn off your car you sit there for a moment and take a few deep breaths. "It's just one date," you repeated to yourself like a mantra.
You checked the time on your phone and it was 7:59 exactly so you slipped your device back into your cream-colored coat's pocket before composing yourself.
By the time you finally exited the car and headed toward the restaurant, you saw Atsumu was already waiting for you at the door. He was at the door with a black puffer coat on and his hands in the pockets of said coat. He hadn't noticed your presence yet but it seemed like he was looking around for you in every direction except in front of him.
When he finally did look in your direction you were only about two feet away from him. "Hi," he smiles and you tried to fake a smile but it didn't work out. "Hey," you said in return. He didn't waste a second before opening the door inside for you and allowing you to go first.
"Thanks," you replied taking a step inside and immediately you were taken aback by the inside of the restaurant. The inside was a much different vibe from the outside of the restaurant. On the outside, it looked like any regular sushi place—not that special.
The inside had a unique ambiance though and it seemed overly fancy for a sushi restaurant. You were surprised you'd never heard of it before it seemed like it was pretty popular based on the amount of people inside.
