I find it funny watching people comment about the people watching in that one graves fic I did so we're doing it again but with a whole xenomorph. If you're one of the people that wanted part 2 - too bad you're getting an alternate timeline and a Taylor swift pun.

Little note that the writing is terrible here because:
1. I wasn't taking this seriously (and neither should you)
2. I got bored of it
I just want to push something out in case I disappear for a few months so take this abomination

"They're being really secretive with this one," my lunch buddy nudged me with a questioning glance
"they are... this has to be something bad- maybe unethical?" i nudged him back
"Maybe - but if it's what we gotta do, it's what we gotta do. I doubt it'd even be done if Graves thought it was that bad," we talked as we started walking into the ship, being at the front of the long crowd walking in.

As we talked his words started to fade a little as he got distracted looking at something behind us. before i could follow his gaze, i was slammed into the wall of the ship, literally everyone behind us seeing and hearing.
"I told you not to come," the man spoke through gritted teeth. Graves, and his usual violence.
"And i came anyway. if there's a problem shouldn't you tell everyone staring right now?" the crowd tried to move their gaze but ultimately failed. he had pinned my hands either side of me on the wall and i couldn't move at all, no escape from this.
"There's only a problem with you going." he seemed like he was holding back from screaming in my face, but honestly i wanted him to just do it. seeing him so bothered was quite funny.
"That's great, i'm special, but i don't care. I'm still going." I glared
"Soldier, it is an order," he sighed
"An unreasonable one, and an unreasonable way to give one," i wriggled my wrist around in his grip.
"Why have you got to be such a snarky bitch?" his volume started to rise as his professional speech stopped
"Snarky bitch? Last time i checked, you're always there to judge me, always there to make me look useless. You've even knocked me out during training! I'm sorry i can't be nice to an asshole like you!"
"But you check for me, don't you?! The second time i was at training at the same time as you i saw your eyes searching instead of doing what you're meant to and they do that every time. Do you actually have a problem? or do you want one?" we were now just yelling, and i bet no one was bored watching this all happen
"Of course I don't fucking want one!"
"Then why make so many?!"
"me? i'm not the one making them! Maybe if you actually looked at other people during training you'd see that i'm doing the same as them!" i leaned forward as i yelled slightly, trying to show the anger my mask covered up
"Maybe if you stopped staring at me every time you train i wouldn't have to stand in so you actually do something!"
"Maybe if you stopped being there every time im there i wouldn't get so distracted!"
"I'm not making you get distracted!"
"I'm not making you stand in!"

it wes quiet for a short second as we started to look into each others eyes. i'd never really noticed how blue his were. I could basically read him through his eyes. He was pleading with them, begging even.
"I'm going on this mission, Graves." I regained my composure, standing up straight in his loosening grip. He sighed.
"Of course you are... then I'm coming with you." He bowed his head in defeat, stepping away from me.
"What? What can possibly be that bad you need to follow me?" I was about to start yelling. If this is just to judge me I'm going to resign. He didn't answer, just taking a seat and waiting for everyone else to do so too.

Missions to other space stations were always risky, with the risk of several system failures and broken synthetics it could easily become deadlier than a fight on earth. But even with that in mind, Graves never came with us on the missions. I tried to read his expression, analyse his body language, maybe even listen out for an unsteady breath but he was unreadable - straight faced just like a synthetic. I'd almost think he was one if he had a British accent.
