Goku Begins Training Part 11

Goku had lost track of how much time he had spent on this path repeating the same cycle. Run till he was exhausted, eat, sleep and then proceed again day in and day out. The dangers he learned lurked everywhere, especially in the early days of his journey when he took a nap on the path ... He woke up when he felt a subtle tugging motion on his foot and awoke to a swarm of darkness surrounding him and trying to drag him off the edge. He had managed to get away from the dark tendrils with a lot of struggle.

He had met a cleaner on the path and the man had given him a ride for part of the journey after talking to him for a while, the man was simply happy to see another face on the path. The tendrils of hell had tried to grasp him again keeping him awake for a few days just trying to fend them off constantly.  He had a hard time managing his food sometimes not eating as much in order to make it last ... which left him weakened, and it always seemed like the tendrils from hell knew because that was when they attacked the most.

He lost track of time since the days seemed to blend into one another, the sun didn't set and everything looked mostly the same ... he wondered how many had gone insane on this path ... he also wondered if his brother was in hell below him ... whether they would meet again? His food supplies had been running low already, especially after some of them had been knocked out of his grasp by the tendrils in one of their encounters ... they had seemingly targeted the bags and managed to get one.

The idea of meeting Grandpa Gohan had crossed his mind, but that was something to think about later as he had to get back home before those other Saiyans arrived, it was when he was plagued by these thoughts that he finally came upon a floating planet hovering just a bit of a way out of snakeway. He hadn't seen anything else in ... days or was it weeks, maybe months since that cleaner so he decided he was going to have a look.

He took a leap towards the planet with as much energy as he could muster after having a hearty meal with his meagre supplies ... he needed enough energy to get to it, so he put ki towards his flight not knowing if it was going to work ... it didn't. But he reached the planet with a crash causing a sizeable crater but not harming him too much. He got up stretching his arms and creaking whatever joints had been hurt in the crash as he took a look around.

This planet was as small as it looked in the distance which surprised him, but there was a small house at the far end and a tree ... but he couldn't see anyone. He walked towards the house shouting out "HELLO!!! IS ANYONE HERE!!!" but no one came out to greet him as he walked around ... he did however notice something the moment he had set foot on this planet. The gravity of the word was harder than back home... it would have caused him trouble had he not been training back at home, but there was still the slight heft that he could feel.

"WHO THE BLOODY HELL IS MAKING NOISE OUT THERE!!!" King Kai came out in some pyjamas dishevelled as if woken up from a nap. Goku stopped in his tracks and turned around jogging towards the man in such a happy mood. "Wow is this place yours, it's pretty neat, I saw it when I was running down there and thought it might be a nice place to rest ... or to see if this was my destination."

"Destination?" King Kai questioned as the sleepiness was leaving him and his vision cleared and he looked at the man with the aura of a Saiyan... the very same earths guardian had spoken about. He looked above his head and saw no halo causing him to stumble momentarily ... "you're not dead?" Goku looked at the man confusedly pointing at himself, "No, but I almost was ... oh you must mean that thing Kami was talking about, that this would have been easier had I been dead."

"It's just you are supposed to be here a few more months ... let alone alive ... i can't remember if anyone has ever completed the journey here alive before " he muttered staring at the mortal with a slight shock. "Well, things almost went badly so many times ... and did go badly so many times but I managed to pull through, thanks to Bulma's capsules and Kami sensu beans ... i can understand why this path would be hard for anyone else to compete."
