CHAPTER FIFTEEN: JUST ANOTHER MYSTERIOUS DEATH

DANNY WOKE UP on a dirty couch that reeked of booze. As Danny opened up his eyes, his hangover hit, and his head felt like it was splitting in two. Danny groaned and closed his eyes, regretting the last couple of drinks he had had. He slowly opened them again and looked around the room he was in. He didn't remember falling asleep at Benny's Burgers, but apparently, he did. The basketball team was all awake, surrounding the television, watching a random cartoon as they continued to drink and eat cereal. Danny searched the room with his eyes, but Shayna was nowhere to be found.
Danny slowly sat up and grabbed a random cup. He pushed himself off the couch and started to trudge toward the bathroom, dragging his feet as he did so. He opened the door, and he couldn't believe what he saw. Danny's girlfriend, Shayna Moner, was half-naked, shoving her tongue down another guy's throat. Danny leaned against the doorway and narrowed his eyes at the pair. When they realized someone had opened the door, they both whipped their heads toward him. Shayna's eyes widened once she realized it was Danny.
Shayna quickly pushed the boy away from her, "Danny! Um... this isn't —"
"We're done, Shayna," Danny interrupted, too hungover to listen to Shayna's bullshit excuses. "Now both of you, get the fuck out so I can hydrate and piss."
"Danny —"
"I don't wanna fucking hear it!" Danny interrupted once more. He stepped aside to let them leave. "Get out."
Despite her being the one to cheat, tears formed in Shayna's eyes as she exited the bathroom with the guy. Danny knew he had kissed Lucas the night before, but he had pushed Lucas off. Danny may be a little bit of a slut, but he had never cheated on a girl before, and didn't respect most people who cheated. Danny entered the bathroom and slammed the door shut behind him. He was too hungover to react to the fact that he had just walked in on his girlfriend cheating on him. He filled the cup up with tap water before chugging it, his organs practically thanking him.
As Danny refilled his cup, Lucas Sinclair threw the door open so hard the doorknob made a dent in the wall. Danny watched as he scrambled to the toilet and immediately started vomiting just like the night before. Danny closed the door again before chugging his water, then filled it again and placed it on the sink for Lucas when he was finished emptying the contents of his stomach.
Someone knocked on the bathroom door, and Danny almost opened it until he heard Jason's voice on the other side, "You good, Sinclair? First hangover feels like you're gonna split in two, but you'll live."
