CHAPTER SIXTEEN:
WHERE IS EDDIE MUNSON?

🎸🤍

FAMILY VIDEO WAS a store where you could rent movies for a night to watch at home. It was very popular among Hawkins's teenagers and parents looking for a fun family night activity. Danny's ex had been obsessed with movies, so Danny often frequented Family Video. Thankfully, Steve and Robin worked there, so he was able to get a discount on movies and save a couple of bucks on candy and popcorn. Family Video also had several phones, which Dustin suggested they use to contact anyone who might know Eddie's whereabouts.

Dustin didn't have an extra bike, so Danny was forced to continue riding on the back of Max's. It wasn't uncomfortable, but he would've preferred his own. The water and snacks at Dustin's helped Danny's hangover, so he was nearly better, but was still a little irritable and annoyed. He would've loved to go back home and sleep the rest of the day, but with the suspicious nature surrounding Chrissy's death, he knew he needed to help his friends.

All the TVs in Family Video were tuned into the news. All they were talking about was the dead Hawkins High student, but the news had yet to name Chrissy Cunningham as the deceased. Robin and Steve's eyes were glued to the TV when Danny, Dustin, and Max stormed in. Dustin immediately started asking about how many phones they had. As soon as Robin and Steve informed them that they had three phones, Dustin threw his backpack over the counter and threw himself across it. Steve and Robin immediately questioned what they were doing as Danny and Max made their way behind the counter as well.

Dustin went straight to the computer as Steve yelled, "What are you doing, man?"

"Setting up base of operations here," Dustin answered casually.

"Base of operations?" Robin repeated, utterly confused.

"Get off of it," Steve ordered Dustin.

"I need it to look up Eddie's friends' phone numbers," Dustin explained, typing in some of Eddie's friends' names and writing down their numbers.

"Oh, Eddie?" Steve scoffed. "Your new best friend that you think is cooler than me because he plays your nerdy game?"

Danny scoffed and smirked at Steve, "Jealous, Harrington?"

Steve threw up a middle finger in Danny's direction, and Dustin, offended, said, "I never said that."

"Seriously, you guys, maybe on a Monday you can play around in here like toddlers, but it's Saturday," Robin explained as she started to pick up the tapes Dustin had knocked to the ground when he flung himself over the counter. "It's our busiest day."
