The next morning, I was surprised to be greeted at my car by Andrei, who had two coffees in his hands.
I got out of the vehicle with a smile, and took my sunglasses off and put them on top of my head.
"So, is this you admitting that I didn't crush it?" I laughed as he handed me one of the cups.
"Well, about that. I feel as if we were both wrong, you know? It started off solid, but the end?"
"Was shit." I finished for him.
"Yeah, it was. But it wasn't your fault though!" He said, coming to my defense.
"So then what's with the coffee?" I questioned with an eyebrow raised.
"Alright, so here's what I'm thinking. Since neither of us was right, we could just call off the deal, right?"
"Mmhmm." I agreed as I took a sip of my drink.
"But, what's the fun in that? Then you don't get your coffee, and I don't get to take you out tonight."
"So your proposal is...?" I asked as we made it to the entrance. Andrei opened the door and held it open for me. "Thank you." I said.
"My proposal is that I hold up my end, hence the coffee, and you hold up your end. Which means I pick you up later tonight and take you out." He finished with a nonchalant shrug.
"Wow." I said in shock. "It's funny, you seemed so nervous around me at first, but you're so confident now."
"Oh, this is me putting on a brave face." He said as pointed towards himself. "Trust me, you're way too beautiful to not get nervous around."
Immediately, I could feel my face getting hot.
"Seems like I'm not the only one who gets nervous." He pointed out. "So, what do you think?"
I bit my lip as I thought about it for the briefest of moments. "I mean, that sounds fair." I smiled. "Probably shouldn't tell Joe, Tee, or Ja'marr though."
"Why not?" He asked at the same time I heard Ja'marr ask "tell me what?"
Busted I thought to myself. Guess I better go with the truth.
"That Andrei here is taking me out tonight." I smirked while waving my hand toward Andrei.
"Oh really?" Ja'marr said. "Well, good luck. You're gonna need it. She's an asshole."
"Shut up." I said, smacking him as he walked by us.
"See!" Ja'marr called out, walking backwards as he pointed at me. "She's mean!" He said, causing me to laugh before he turned around to watch where he was going.
"If he tells Joey, I just wanna say I'm sorry now for how rough practice could be today."
"You're gonna have to explain this later. I'm dying to know how you know them, but they won't tell me." He informed me.
"They won't?" I asked, even though I already knew that, and why.
"Yeah, they just tell me that they don't tell secrets to rookies." He chuckled.
"So you asked them about me?"
"Oh yeah." He nodded unapologetically. "As soon as you walked away from the field that first day I asked them who you were. Only thing they'd tell me was that you were coming to coach the cheerleaders."
"I didn't figure they'd tell you." I told him honestly. "If you're really nice to me though, I might let you in on the secret."
His smile grew wide. "I should probably get to the locker room. Let me get your number before I go incase I don't see you before you leave."
