"That's... A lot." Andrei said slowly after processing the information I gave him.
"I know." I replied softly.
I felt so guilty that we were now in this predicament. We weren't supposed to have to worry about this so soon. I shouldn't be having my hand forced right now.
Andrei and I discussed what we should do during our plane ride back home. I knew we should be trying to get some sleep since we still had a long day ahead of us Saturday, but I also knew we couldn't wait to talk about it.
Unfortunately, we only had just a few days to make a decision.
As expected, Andrei unselfishly gave his support for me to go back to LA and offered to help with a schedule for making time to see each other.
I didn't want that though. I didn't want to live so far away from him and have to plan out visiting. I've gotten accustomed to having him around every day. I love the fact that we can spend the night together anytime we want.
Could I even handle that if I tried?
The thing that me second guessing myself was the fact that I worked so hard for the job I have. I literally worked day and night at times to work on my endurance, work on my timing and rhythm. On choreos.
Everything I was doing from the very beginning was to improve and becoming the best choreographer out there.
I hated the idea of giving that up.
The other issue was Dustin. Dustin and I have been inseparable since we first met. We've done everything together. We've never gone this long without seeing each other. We moved to LA together to chase our dreams together.
What would this do to him? If I just quit and give up everything we worked for and moved back home to Ohio?
Even though I'd be abandoning him, I knew he'd push me to do what I needed to do for the better of my relationship.
So the only solution was to fly to LA once a week and teach, and otherwise live in Ohio.
I wasn't willing to lose the time that I have with Andrei.
He respected my decision, and he couldn't hide the fact that he was happy with it. He secretly hoped I'd choose to stay.
We slept as much as we could for the rest of the the flight. I was thankful that we didn't have a long drive back to either of our places. We chose to go to his because I hadn't moved anything into the apartment, and I didn't want to go to the hotel.
Yes, the apartment came furnished, but I hadn't had a chance to make the space my own yet.
We were going to rest up before we needed to start cooking for the big fight card tonight.
We brought our suitcases inside and just left them by the door. That would be a problem for later.
We kicked our shoes off and headed towards the bedroom, ready to just unwind in a comfy bed. Those seats on the plane are not built for relaxation.
When we laid down, both of us instinctively rolled to face each other. He brought his hand up to caress my cheek after pushing my hair out of the way.
"Thank you." He told me.
"For what?" I asked, genuinely having no clue.
"For pushing to go to Hawaii. It was really nice getting to see my family and some of my friends."
I smiled at that. "I knew you needed it. And I'm so glad I got to meet your family. They're all such nice people. I see where you get it from." I told him. "I cant wait to visit again."
