I woke up early the next morning, anticipating Andrei to stop by again since it was another day I wouldn't be at the office in the morning.
I made sure that my hair was tamed and my teeth were brushed. I wanted to be prepared this time. We'd gotten past the first kiss nerves, so I had a feeling that it would become a normal thing for us.
Just as I expected, there was a knock on my door about the same time as yesterday.
I opened up the door, and the split second look of disappointment at seeing me look more presentable today was laughable.
"Why do you look upset?" I asked as I invited him in.
"You catch on quick." He told me as he handed me my cup of coffee. "Thought I was gonna get to see your gorgeous morning look again."
Immediate blushing followed that comment. "What can I say? I'm a fast leaner." I shrugged to downplay it. "You know you don't have to bring me coffee every day right? I think we're past that."
"I told you, a deals a deal. I'm a man of my word."
It still made me feel bad. "You don't have to bring it when I'm not at the stadium."
"You said every morning." He reminded me. "Just accept the coffee woman." He laughed.
"Alright, alright." I chuckled. "Wanna sit down?"
He looked a little down. "Of course, but I can't. We all got called in early today, but I wanted to make sure I got to see you."
"Oh." I said simply, making no attempt to hide my disappointment.
"I know. I'm not happy about it either. I'd much rather spend some time with you before going in." He told me, and I could tell how genuine his words were. "But, I'm definitely down to see you tonight. What's your day look like?"
"Just as late today." I informed him. "I gotta go do the warm ups for dress rehearsal at five thirty, and then from six to nine I have to sit through the rehearsals for the final auditions."
"Alright. Well, same thing tonight then?"
"Yeah, of course. I'm definitely not turning that down." I grinned.
"We can do your place tonight. I'll bring pizza or something." He offered.
I felt my face light up at the thought of it. "That sounds amazing."
"Cool. Just text me when you get here, and I'll head over." He said as we started walking towards the door.
I opened the door up and let him walk out. "Alright, I'll see you tonight."
Just as I thought he would, he leaned in to kiss me goodbye. I was right, this would be a normal thing for us, and I am not complaining.
"See you tonight." He said when he pulled back.
Why haven't I gotten over the butterflies? Why couldn't I stop the giddy smile that formed on my face due to the fact that he kissed me.
I waited for him to walk away before shutting the door.
I walked back toward the kitchen area to brew myself a cup of coffee. Just as I got it started my phone started ringing. It was Dustin.
I had forgotten to call him back.
"Shit, I'm sorry." I said immediately upon answering. "I forgot to call you back."
"I can see that." Dustin chuckled. "It's all good though. Were you with Andrei?"
"Yeah, I was with him after rehearsals last night. It's probably good you called, I might have accidentally spent the night if you hadn't."
Dustin was confused. "How would you have accidentally spent the night?"
