It's Monday, and I tried to pick an appropriate outfit for the conference today. I hated dressing up and wearing office attire, but I had to accept that it comes with the territory.
I tossed several outfits out of the closet and onto the bed. I had no idea what to choose.
Outfit one consisted of a flowery button up shirt, black pants, and a pair of wedges. Outfit two was made up of a white tank top paired with tan pants and heels. With a green blazer thrown on top. Outfit choice number three was simple. A black V-line dress that went down passed my knees paired with black heels.
I FaceTimed Olivia to get her input on my attire for the day, and we agreed that the simplicity of the dress would be best for my first press conference.
I got myself dressed while Olivia and I talked. We discussed wedding plans as I put makeup on and did my hair.
I wasn't needed at the office in the morning, so I arrived just a little over half an hour before things were going to start.
I was internally freaking out on my way to the press conference. I've never been in a situation like this, and all I could think about was how I'll fuck it up.
Something will go wrong, and I'll have let Brian down. I'll have let Zac down. Most of all, I'll have let my brother down.
I was standing outside the room, leaned against the wall waiting for someone to come tell me how this all works.
To my surprise, Andrei was the first person who walked up to me.
"Hey." I greeted him with a smile.
"Hey, you ready for this?" He asked, leaning against the wall beside me.
"Not really." I told him honestly. "You're doing the press conference too?" I asked. I knew Joey would be, but I didn't know if he was the only one.
He looked at me skeptically. "Of course. All the guys are."
"Oh." I said while brushing my hair out of my face. "You done this before?"
"This will be my second time since joining the Bengals." He informed me. "You?"
"First time ever." I breathed. "I'm kinda nervous, if I'm being honest."
"Why? You're gonna do great." He said confidently.
I shook my head. "I wouldn't be so sure."
"I am."
"Are you willing to bet on it?" I asked with my arms crossed in front of my chest, thinking it would cause him to rethink it.
I was wrong. "Oh, hell yeah." He said immediately, shrugging off the wall to stand in front of me. "I'll bet on it. I'm telling you, you're gonna kill it." He nodded with a huge grin.
"What do I get if I don't?" I asked, but he didn't get a chance to answer before I decided on my own. "Actually, if I don't do well, you owe me coffee every morning until the first game day."
