Aurora

I watched as the doors to the room closed behind me. I couldn't see Mattheo anymore and I felt anxiety rise in my chest. I pushed it down, putting my cold exterior back on for the time being.

My eyes roamed around the room that I hadn't seen since I was child. It looked the same, a massive mahagony table in the centre of it, surrounded by about 20 chairs. But there was only three of us in here.

"So what is it that you want from me?" I asked coldly.

"What makes you think we want anything my dear child?" My father said with narrowed eyes.

I rolled my eyes. "I'm not stupid father, you never call me here to just 'catch up', so I'll ask again, what do you want?"

"We want to keep our fortune" my mother spoke, glaring at me.

"Okay? And what does that have to do with me exactly?" I spat.

"Well you see my dear daughter, as you know pureblood arranged marriages have been around for hundreds of years, for one purpose only. To keep the rich family bloodline pure" my father spoke, spinning his wand between his fingers.

"In order for our family to remain in the sacred 28, you our daughter must be married to another pure blood and continue the blood line. It's usually the son's duty but seeing as we weren't blessed with one..." my father trailed off, glaring at my mother.

"Are you fucking joking me? You care so much about money and blood status that you'd force me, your only child to marry someone?" I scoffed.

"We have decided to be kind and let you choose who you wish to marry" my mother was staring intensely at my face now.

"Okay, I choose Mattheo" I said quickly.

"No, no dear. It has to be a wealthy pureblood family"

"Oh come on, he's as close as. He's wealthy too so I don't see the problem"

"Yet, he is not one of us. And yes he might be wealthy but he has no family. It is simply just him" my father said sternly.

"I thought you'd appreciate that, it means you don't have to spend hours pretending to be nice to anyone" I said in a huff and started pacing the room.

"You will choose someone. We give you two hours to decide who and the wedding will be held within the next week" my mother slammed her hand against the table making me flinch.

"No, I will not do it"

"You will, or we will kill everyone who is close to you and then we will kill you" my father spoke, lowering his eyes at me.

My chest was rising and falling rapidly. I flicked my eyes down to his wand that was resting on the table. Time to break out the acting skills.

"Daddy please don't make me" I cried. This was too easy.

"I-I'll do anything, but please please" I walked towards him, fake tears rolling down my face.

"Dear daughter, it is the way of our families. There is nothing I can do to change it" he spoke and placed a hand on my shoulder. I immediately returned my face to its blank expression and reached down quickly to grab his wand. Just as my fingers brushed against the wood, his hand came up to strike me against my face. I stumbled back holding my cheek.

"You silly, silly girl. Did you really think I believed that act. We raised you, we know all of your tricks" he spat at my now trembling figure.

"The decision is final. You have two hours to decide and if you do not. We will decide for you. Now go!" My mother pointed her finger towards the door.

Mattheo

My eyes had been glued to the massive wooden doors for 25 minutes now. We all finished waltzing with our partners 10 minutes ago.

"I'm going up there" I spoke and jumped out of my seat. Theo placed a hand on my shoulder, pulling me back down.

"Mate, chill out. You're drawing attention to us, remember what Aurora said. We have to blend in"

I nodded my head slowly and rested my head in my hands.

"There she is" Draco spoke quickly. I raised my head immediately to see her storming down the stairs, a red mark on her cheek. She walked straight over to us and grabbed my hand.

"Come with me" she said to us all.

We followed her out of the ball room and up another set of stairs. She lead us down a long hallway and then pushed open a door at the end of it. This must be her room, or what used to be her room.

"What's going on?" I asked nervously.

She explained to us all exactly what happened, my jaw was clenched the entire time. Especially when she pointed to her cheek and told us her father didn't appreciate her sweet daughter act. I swore to myself I would kill him one day.

"So let me get this straight, you have to choose a pure blood boy to get married to, so that your parents can keep their sacred 28 status and wealth?" Draco asked.

"Yes, essentially if I don't get married and produce an heir, they can longer be in the sacred 28. Of course they'd still be a well known pureblood family but that's not enough for them" Aurora let out with a huff.

"I tried to bargain with them, said that I wanted to marry Mattheo but they said it wasn't good enough. It has to be a wealthy pureblood, who also has other extended family for some reason" she rolled her eyes.

I stayed quiet the whole time, trying to think of a solution. Did I want her to marry someone else? Hell no. But I sure as hell didn't want her to get hurt or worse killed. An idea suddenly came to mind....

"I have an idea" I spoke and looked into her eyes.

"Okay, what is it?" She asked eagerly.

"Marry Theo, if you marry Theo then, he fits all of the requirements and I trust him, I know he wouldn't tell anyone about us and I know he'll take care of you" I rushed the words out.

"You want her to marry me?" Theo asked with his mouth hanging open.

"Yes, I do" I looked at Theo straight in the eyes, letting him know this wasn't a joke.

"I mean, if it has to be anyone, I'd rather it be you Theo. Instead of some disgusting, pureblood supremacist" Aurora spoke with a voice full of disgust.

"Only if you're okay with it, I don't want you to get married to me if you don't actually want to be married at all" she said and looked at Theo with a small smile.

"Aurora, if I have to get married, it would be an honour to be married to you" he smiled back at her.

"Then it's settled. Go and tell your parents, before they start to hunt you down" I said with a sigh.

Aurora walked closer to me and pressed a longing kiss against my lips. "I love you Mattheo"

"I love you too darling"

I watched as she grabbed Theo's hand and dragged him out of her room, letting the door slam shut behind her.

"Are you really okay with this mate? The girl you love marrying someone else?" Draco asked nervously.

"I wish it was me she was getting married to but if her marrying Theo, stops her from being hunted to the ends of the earth. Then yes, I'm okay with it"

"You're a better man than I Mattheo" Draco let a small smile rest on his lips.

"All I care about is her being safe".
