~8 months and 3 weeks later~

Aurora

The time had passed quickly. Surprisingly we all managed to graduate Hogwarts school of witch craft and wizardry with flying colours.

The seasons had changed and so had I. Being full term in this pregnancy was not easy and to say I was uncomfortable would be an understatement. It was making me miss the earlier months, even though I felt constantly nauseous, I'd go back in a heartbeat.

We'd spent weeks, moving Mattheo and Draco into the manor. Who knew two boys had so much crap. It was strange to be back here at first because the room that was once mine, wasn't anymore. I was now sharing with Mattheo and we were on a completely different end of the manor. However, I still loved my new room just as much.

We had definitely made this place our home and I must admit, it felt nice to have more people here now. When it was just me and Theo, it felt like we were rattling around.

We'd celebrated birthday's, had parties (well Draco did) and I'd had Draco's mother over for tea a few times. It was our home. Our safe space.

Draco had now found himself a girlfriend, after years of insisting he didn't believe in love. Him and Daphne were completely and utterly head over heels for each other, even if Draco wouldn't admit it out loud.

As for Theodore, he kept insisting that there was no one he was interested in but I didn't quite believe it. As most evenings he would come to mine and Mattheo's room to tell us he was going out for a while and to owl him immediately should i go into labour. So he was either doing something sketchy or he was meeting up with a girl. I believed the latter option. Of course Mattheo believed the first.

Mattheo and I had never been better, I don't quite know how he was still around after all of my mood swings. I was one emotional bitch at the moment. One minute I was laughing and the next crying. Every little thing would piss me off. Like the other day when Draco left a mug in the sink, I nearly murdered them all for that.

At this very moment, I was led on the sofa, whilst Mattheo massaged my feet. I'd been having these strange pains for a few hours now in my lower stomach and back. They started out being about 20 minutes apart but they were now much closer. I assumed it was just the baby moving around.

"Hey guys, what's going on?" Theo called out as he walked into the room. His eyebrows furrowed as he saw the uncomfortable look on my face.

"What's wrong mi amore?" He spoke and rushed to my side.

"I've been getting these pains for a few hours, they're happening a lot more often now though than they were before"

Theo's eyes widened. "Aurora, those are contractions".

My own eyes widened now and I looked down to Mattheo. He looked nervous.

"How often are they happening now?" Theo asked quickly.

"Uh-uh every 5 minutes" I was absolutely shitting myself.

"Mattheo, owl Narcissa. Now" Mattheo jumped up off the floor and ran out of the room.

"Come on Aurora, let's get you upstairs" he helped me stand and pretty much carried my whole body weight up the stairs.

He told me to lie on the bed and try to relax.

"Relax? Relax. You're not the one who has to push a child out Theodore, I swear to fuck!" Just as I finished my rambling another contraction came on. I threw my head back in pain and screwed my eyes shut.

I felt a warm hand wrap around mine. I opened my eyes to see it belonged to Narcissa Malfoy. She had a warm smile on her face.

"It's okay Aurora, I want you to take deep breaths now" she said softly. I felt a tear run down my cheek and Mattheo ran over to me, wiping it away.

"It's okay darling, you can do this" he brushed my hair out of my face.

"Now Aurora, I need to check a few things. Would you like the boys to leave or stay" Cissy asked.

"They can stay" I managed to get out.

She nodded her head and told me to remove my joggers. She pulled a sheet over my knees as to let me keep some dignity. After a few uncomfortable moments she lifted her head up and spoke.

"You're ready to start pushing dear, when you next feel that pain, I want you to push" she gave me a reassuring look.

Theo made his way over and placed a comforting hand on my knee. His face held a look of fear on it. Mattheo still had my hand gripped with his own and placed a gentle kiss to it.

I felt the familiar pain I'd been feeling for hours and started to push. Merlin this hurt. My eyes were screwed shut and I could feel the sweat dripping down my face. Theo reached a hand up to wipe it away and then left a gentle kiss behind.

I don't know how much longer I can do this....

~2 hours later~

"You have a son, Aurora!" Cissy shouted out to me.

I let my head fall back and tried to calm my breathing, my whole body was shaking.

However, the pain immediately subsided as soon as a little cry filled the room.

I lifted my head back up and stared at the small infant in Cissy's arms. Tears of happiness welled up in my eyes. I glanced to Mattheo to see him staring at the child in awe.

"Th-Theo" I said with a weary voice.

He came around the other side of the bed and sat next to my body, pulling me gently into his arms. He placed a kiss to my head and I felt his hot tears hit my face. Cissy handed my son to me and I swear I've never felt anything like it. An immediate sense of love washed over me as he grabbed ahold of my finger with his tiny hands.

Theo ran a hand over his small head. "Auroras he-he's..."

"Perfect" Mattheo said from beside me and placed a delicate kiss to my lips.

"What do we call him?" I turned to Theo.

"How about Lucas?" Theo asked in a soft voice.

"Lucas, Lucas Nott" I repeated. "I love it" I beamed at Theo.

I did it. I was a mum. Looking into little Lucas' eyes, I promised in that moment to be a better mother than mine had ever been. I promised to love him and care for him and guide him. Always. My son.
