The lady opened her door, to lay her eyes on long Ebony hair with streaks of grey ascending into two thin braids in the front. Before her was a dwarf of around 5 ft with a massive build, clad in a blue garment embellished with silver armlets and a striking belt. Lucy met his eyes to find that he was examining her wordlessly, just as she had been doing.

Thorin stepped forward, making the girl give way for him to enter her house."Gandalf." Thorin's voice was gruff and melodic at the same time. "I thought you said this place would be easy to find. I lost my way, twice. Wouldn't have found it at all if not for that mark on the door."

This caused the pinkette to turn towards the man in question. "I don't recall you visiting me the past week, Mithrandir. When did you get to have your art escapade then?"

Gandalf justified, "Earlier today,I visited and found you away when I reached. I placed the mark then."  "Maybe I should buy you a new dictionary Gandalf ,'cus it seems yours doesn't have the word consent."Lucy digressed.

Gandalf, keen on playing his part, ignored the young lady and stepped to the side motioning towards her."Lucy Vivian, allow me to introduce the leader of our company,Thorin Oakenshield."

Thorin encircled her, "So, this is the human you sang praises about."This caused Lucy to involuntarily lift an eyebrow. The girl knew what the dwarf was going to say next and she mentally reeled herself from giving too much of a snarky response.

Under the chandelier, the dwarf looked at her with scrutiny. "Tell me, Miss Vivian, Have you done much fighting?"He jeered. It was practically infuriating for Lucy to face ridicule in her own house.

At her lack of response,Thorin probed with a smirk "Axe or sword? What is your weapon of choice?"Things were definitely taking a turn to look like Lucy might throw her heels at the dwarf.

She gave him a fierce look instead."Why? Would you like to have a round? Bet I could whoop your ass into respecting people in their homes." she challenged, resting her hands on her hips.

The company took in a sharp breath collectively, exchanging glances of shock at each other. "What?" The young woman crossed her arms across her chest, "I look more like a housewife than a burglar,do I? You'll do well to change your bigoted views if you're to find-Lucy."

Gandalf came to stand between the girl and the dwarf and shot her a look of disapproval.

The woman huffed and marched out of the hall and into the kitchen. Though she had plenty of provisions left she chose to be small hearted and settled on bringing Thorin a plate of rosemary pretzels with chicken curry which she heated.

When she returned, she found the table spotless and chairs arranged neatly with the dwarves sitting in an orderly fashion without a sight of what went down before the company leader's arrival. In all honesty she wondered if Thorin was the group mom Or something.

Her presence brought about a scowl from Durin's heir, along with the collective attention of the company.Apparently pissing off dwarf kings wasn't that great of an idea and she really didn't have it on her to do list but what was a person to do when faced with a degrading comment from a guy?

As if responding was a petty crime. She set the plate before the ungrateful vitriolic fellow.  Balin could wait no longer, "What news comes from Ered Luin? Did they all come?""Aye."

Thorin affirmed."Envoys from all seven kingdoms." The room was ablaze with the excitement of probability. Lucy observed as Dwalin asked"What do the dwarves of the iron hills say? Is Dain with us?"

Thorin's face fell as he answered, "They will not come." he looked at the others, "They say this quest is ours, and ours alone." The table fell into silent murmurs as disappointment washed over the gathering."Lucy, my dear girl, let us have a little more light."
