Bucky and Sam watched as everyone left the burial site. Kira stood staring at the headstone while holding a folded flag.
Bucky walked towards her, ignoring Sam. "Hello Kira, I'm.."
"Sergeant James Barnes." Kira replied before looking up at him. "Papa's best friend."
"I go by Bucky." Bucky looked around. "Where's your parents?"
Kira scoffed. "My father is out with his Department of Defense buddies. Mom is who knows where." Kira looked back at the headstone. "Papa was all I had left. Nana died three weeks ago."
Bucky nodded slightly. "Do you need anything?"
"Can you help me get in touch with Bruce Banner, Thor Odinson, and Clint Barton?"
Bucky nodded slightly. "I can. Why?"
"Papa isn't buried here. He didn't want to risk anyone getting ahold of his DNA." Kira wiped at her face.
Sam walked up and handed her a handkerchief. "Sam Wilson."
Kira nodded, taking the handkerchief. "Papa spoke highly of you." She wiped her face and took a breath. "Papa was cremated. I'm going to spread his and Nana's ashes. I figured I would have the Avengers come to give their last words if they want."
Bucky and Sam nodded in understanding.
Kira handed Bucky a card. "Please be here next Saturday at two."
"Of course." Bucky replied and watched as Kira turned and walked away.
"Think she's gonna be okay?" Sam asked in slight concern.
"Not sure." Bucky replied.
The next Saturday
Kira walked down to the gazebo where what was left of the Avengers stood. She gave a slight smile and nodded to them.
"Thank you for coming." She took a breath and looked at the group. "My name is Kira Romanova."
Clint and Bruce both stared at her with wide eyes.
"My grandfather, as you know, was the late Steve Rogers. My grandmother was Natasha Romanoff- Rogers."
"Nat lived?" Clint asked in confusion.
"How?" Thor asked as he looked at the young Midgardian.
"When Papa returned the Soul Stone, he had a choice. He brought back Nana. While she was getting healed to be able to have my father Papa went and fixed the timeline." Kira looked at the urn in her hands. "There weren't enough Pym particles for them both to come back, so they chose a moment and started their lives together."
Clint swallowed hearing that Nat got the family she always wanted.
"Nana died three weeks ago, so Papa came back." Kira held out the urn. "This is their ashes."
Bruce placed a hand on the urn before looking down at Kira. "Thank you for telling us."
"I heard you guys didn't do a funeral for Nana. I thought you guys could give your proper goodbyes as I spread the ashes."
Clint took a breath, trying not to cry. "Thank you, Kira."
Kira nodded, then turned to walk down the path towards a huge willow tree near a small creek.
As the wind caught the ashes of the two former Avengers those left behind, they said their final goodbyes to their two fallen teammates.
