I was positive that I had work today, but when I checked the schedule earlier yesterday...it said I had the day off, so I thought maybe my boss didn't need me, or maybe I had asked for the day off and didn't remember it. We had just gotten back to my place, I opened the front door and was met with Stephanie. She glared, "Sodapop, can we talk...alone?" "Yeah! Sure thing-." Nancy interrupted me, "Whatever you have to say to Sodapop...you can say to me too," Stephanie rolled her eyes, "Fine! Why did you change the schedule Nancy?" "What schedule?" "Sodapop and Steve's work schedule." I spoke, "Steph what the hell are you talking about?" "Steve was supposed to have today off Soda, not you. Someone switched it on the schedule," "And you think it was Nancy?" "Obviously!." Nancy looked at Stephanie appalled, "Steph, I would never do that!! I'm not a monster." Stephanie rolled her eyes at Nancy, I sighed, "Steph, kitchen, now!." I pulled her out of earshot from Nancy, "Stephanie, how dare you accuse my girlfriend!" "Sodapop, I don't think you understand-," "No! You don't understand, I'm happy, okay? Nancy makes me happy, and I get that you want all the attention now that you're home...but that's not how it works," "Soda-," "End of discussion Steph." I walked out of the kitchen and looked at Nancy, "Wanna get out of here?."

1:30 pm

I was walking back down to the DX station when I was met with...the devil, Cherry Valance glared at me, "Ew! What the hell are you doing back in town?" "I'm back for Thanksgiving Break, I'm guessing you are as well?" "Well Duh!" "How's college? I heard you got into Sarah Lawrence," "It's fine! Why are you so nosey?" "I was just trying to be civil with you," "Why though? You hate me," "Yeah, that is true...but being rude to you won't change anything." I walked past her and finally made it to the DX, Steve was outside working on a car. I sighed, "Sodapop thinks I'm a total bitch," "Because you think it was Nancy?" "Yes! He's so oblivious to the point it makes my brain hurt," "Well Steph, maybe it wasn't Nancy," "What?" "I mean, you don't know her all that well...I've known her since July, she's not known to be evil," "So you're taking her side over my side?" "There are no sides Stephanie, this isn't that big of a deal. I will take tomorrow off and we can go do something," "Steve, I'm only here for a week, I want to spend every minute with you that I can...but I'm telling you, she's the one that's taking it away from me." He looked at me and sighed, "Steph, you know I love you. I just think your getting ahead of yourself," "I am not getting ahead of myself Steven," "Just drop it Steph, it's really not that big of a deal." I scoffed and walked away.

4:00 pm

I sat on the couch as my dull mind tried to focus on the television, finally the front door opened. Ponyboy, Two-Bit, and Johnny all trailed inside, I stood up and glared, "Where have y'all been?!?" Two-Bit snickered, "We were out having fun!" "I've had like the worst day of my life." Ponyboy sadly looked at me, "What's wrong Steph?" "Well, I was supposed to hangout with Steve today...but I'm convinced Nancy changed the work schedule and switched it so that Soda had the day off instead of Steve." The three boys all shared a laugh, I glared, "What's so funny?" Two-Bit laughed, "Steph, Nancy Walker doesn't have the brains to pull off the operation you just described," "But she had to have done it!" "What makes you think so?" "Kylee told me that Nancy has been all over Steve, and it's true. Yesterday, I was outside with Steve and Nancy came outside and was all over him...right in front of me." Johnny softly spoke, "My opinion, she's not good enough for Sodapop," I sighed in relief, "Thank you!! At least someone agrees with me." Ponyboy put his head down in defeat, "I mean she's not a bright girl, and I have seen her get too friendly with Steve and with Dally." I glared at Two-Bit, "See!! She's pure evil, I say we reveal her for who she really is," Ponyboy stepped in, "Steph, let's just keep our eyes peeled...and if we hear or see her do anything, we will confront her," "Promise?" "I promise."

7:00 pm

I opened the door to the Curtis and immediately, Two-Bit tackled me. I annoyingly spoke, "Keith, I'm really not in the mood. I'm exhausted," "Oh don't be so dramatic!" "Two-Bit, I don't wanna hear it, you haven't worked a day in your life," "Damn, someone's bitchy!." I pushed past him and scanned the room realizing Steph wasn't down here, I sauntered upstairs to her bedroom door. I opened the door and found her lying on her bed staring at the ceiling, I sighed, "Hey." She ignored me, I sat down on the edge of her bed, "Stephanie, I know you're mad at me-," "Mad? I'm furious! I came all the way from California to spend time with you and my family just for you all to tell me that I'm crazy for thinking all this bad stuff about Nancy," "I never called you crazy! I just said you can't assume stuff about people that you barely know," "Well I can, and I did. And I'm broken because my brother's psycho girlfriend is trying to take my boyfriend." I took her hand in mine, "Steph, I promise you...nobody will ever take me away from you," "Steve, I see the way she acts towards you," "So? I'm your boyfriend...I don't and never will like her like that," "I just don't get how you don't see it, don't you see the way she looks at you?" "Honestly Steph, no. I don't look at her, I only look at you." She smiled at me and pulled me closer, "I'm sorry, I'm not trying to start drama...I just don't trust her," "And that's okay! You don't have to, you barely know her...but can you at least give her a chance? For your brother," "Okay...I will give her a chance."
