"Jennn." Meciela dragged raising her leg up and kicking me softly. "Yes mamas?" I groaned shoving her leg away from me "We should get a dog." She suggested climbing on top of me and moving two of my dreads from my face.
"Meciela you couldn't even take care of your plants what's makes you think you can take care of a dog?" I asked.
"Aye we don't talk about that." She laughed shoving her finger in my face, I chuckled.
"So can we?" She pleaded. "I'll think about it." I said pulling my covers over my face and falling back asleep.

I walked into the pet shop Jayla Meciela best friend following behind "What kind of dog would Ciela want?" I asked as we looked at all the hyper active dogs running around in the play pen. "Probably something small not big because I know she doesn't like big dogs." Jayla explained looking at the smaller dogs while also looking at big ones. "What about that one?" I spoke pointing towards a small frail puppy that sat in a corner by himself.
Jayla turned her head to him and immediately fell in love "He's so cutee." She dragged and slowly extended her arms to him so he could sniff her "He's so sweet." She cooed as he licked her cheeks softly.
"Find one you like?" The shop owner asked walking up to us. "Yeah I'll take the little small brown one." I replied. The shop owner nodded, handed me some papers to sign and got the small dog out and handed him to me.
"Thanks for adopting at Shelly's pet shop." She smiled as we walked out the shop and to my car.

After the half a hour drive back to me and Ciela shared apartment I got the puppy out as well as some of the toys and food I had brought for him. I unlocked the front door quietly not making any noise.
"Babe?!" I heard Ciela shout from the kitchen 'Damn that girl got hearing like a bat' I thought chuckling. "Yeah it's me!" I shouted back peaking around the corner and coming face to face with her causing her to jump. "Why you peaking around the corner?" She asked giggling.
"Cause I have a surprise for you." I cheesed "But you gotta close your eyes and sit on the couch." I instructed and she eagerly sat on the couch closing her eyes. "Alright ima put something in your hand and you gon guess what your surprise is." I explained, she nodded and I slowly placed the dog collar in her hands. "What is this..." she murmured feeling on the collar for a solid minute before smiling "Is it a collar?" She smiled.
"What kind of collar?" I replied. She paused. "Is it a dog collar!?" She asked getting excited.
I smiled and held onto the puppy "Pit it down and ima put another thing in your arm." I explained. She did as told and reached her arm out once again.
I carefully set the puppy in her arms and heard her gasps at the sudden weight against her arms. "Babe you're joking!" She asked opening her eye and smiling as she saw the puppy in her arms. She began kissing his face and petting him gently as he got used to her scent and started licking her back.
"What's his name?" She asked looking up at me "Ian give him one yet I wanted you to pick one." I said sitting down beside her. "How bout Amiri?" She suggested. "I love it." I smiled kissing her cheek wrapping my arm around her shoulder tightly.
