Chapter 23

Jessica's pov

We woke up at nine o'clock but we talked until eleven and now we are down stairs eating some breakfast. After eating breakfast I went upstairs and changed into the clothes I brought with me and put my hair into a messy bun. Just as I was finished getting changed my dad arrived to collect me I said goodbye to the girls and left. When we got back the pub I stayed down in the pub for a few hours and then went out for lunch with Nancy and Lee. We went into the cafe. I got a ham and pickle sandwich and a orange juice, Nancy got the same as me and Lee got a ham and cheese sandwich and a coffee. We sat down while Lee got the food, ''how was the sleepover'' ''it was good'' ''any gossip'' ''nope just the usual, mum is due any day and she still hasn't got anything for the baby'' ''she still has a month before she is due'' ''yeh but she could go into labour'' ''I suppose '' just then Lee came over with the food we sat and talked for a good hour once we were finished our food. When we got back to the pub I went upstairs and watched tv. At about seven o'clock I was getting hungry so I went downstairs and asked my dad if I could have some money to go and get some chips. ''Dad could I have some money for some chips'' ''sure princess'' he said while handing me some money. I grabbed my coat and went to the chippy. After getting my chips I walked back to the pub and ate them while watching tv. When I was finished I went into my room and changed into grey pj bottoms, a navy vest top, a white sweatshirt with 'sweatpants,messy bun, no make-up, just chillin' wrote on it and some fluffy socks. Once I was changed I lay on my bed and went on youtube. After watching youtube for a few hours it was midnight so I got out of bed to go and get a glass of water. I knew the pub would be closed and Tina, Lee and Nancy were going out. I was walking out of the kitchen when I heard a noise downstairs, I put my water down and went to see what I was. I walked down the stairs and saw mum lying on the ground unconscious. ''MUM'' I shouted while running to her, what do I do ''dad, dad'' I called running upstairs but he wasn't in there bedroom or in the bar. I grabbed my phone and rang for an ambulance.''999 what's your emergency'' ''I need an ambulance my mum has fallen'' ''ok I am passing you over'' ''ambulance service what's your emergency'' ''my mum has fallen she is eight months pregnant'' ''can you tell me where you are'' ''the queen vic albert square'' ''ok an ambulance is on its way can you tell me how your mum fell'' ''I'm not sure I think she fell down the stairs'' ''ok is she awake'' '' no'' ''ok can you check if she has a pulse'' ''ok hang on'' I put the phone down and check for a pulse luckily I found one ''yes I found one'' ''ok that's a good sign the ambulance is outside is the door open'' ''no I'll go open it'' I ran through to the bar and opened the door and the paramedics came in I picked my phone up and tried ringing my dad again but there was no answer ''can you tell me what her name is'' ''it's Linda'' ''how far gone is she'' ''eight months'' they started working on her so I decided to run upstairs to quickly change and ring dad again ''I am just going to change is it ok if I go with you'' ''yes we will be going in about two minutes'' I ran upstairs and changed into black tracksuit bottoms, a black hollister vest top, my zoella sweatshirt and my converse. I dialled dads number and again there was no answer. As I got down the stairs they were putting mum into the ambulance so I locked the pub doors and jumped in the ambulance. I decided to ring Lee after two rings he picked up ''Lee you need to find dad and get to the hospital'' ''why what has happened'' ''it's mum she has fallen'' I said in tears ''is she ok'' ''I don't know'' ''ok we will be there as fast as we can stay strong'' ''ok bye'' ''bye''. As I hung up we had arrived at the hospital. I hopped out of the ambulance and they then took my mum out. ''This is Linda Carter she has fallen down the stairs she is eight months pregnant, she has a laceration to her forehead and some bruising to her face but she has no other obvious injuries. She has been unconscious for about thirty minutes.'' ''ok put her on this bed'' one of the nurses said while pointing at a bed ''ok on three, one two three lift'' they lifted mum onto a bed ''this is Linda's daughter'' ''ok can you come with me'' one of the nurses said while ushering me out of the room ''but what about my mum'' ''you can see her in a minute I need to ask you some questions'' ''ok'' the nurse showed me to a room and asked me some questions about my mum and when she was finished Nancy and Lee had arrived. ''Jess where is mum'' ''they have taken her into resus but they won't tell me anything'' ok wait here and I will try to find someone'' Lee said while walking to the desk. ''Nancy what if she's not ok, what if something has happened to the baby'' I said panicking ''Jess she will be fine you know mum she is a fighter'' ''I know but that fall couldn't have been good for the baby and she was unconscious for so long'' just then Lee came back over ''Jess you need to relax you are getting yourself the worked up'' ''well what did they say'' Nancy asked ''they didn't tell me anything'' I sat down on one of the chairs. Nancy went over to Lee and whispered something to him, Nancy left to ring Tina and see if she had found dad yet, Lee came over and sat beside me and put his arm around. I couldn't hold the tears in any longer I started crying, he pulled me into his chest and I cried. ( I have done this to many times this year.)
