Chapter 6: Winter Solstice, Part 1: The Spirit World

An: Okay as a heads up not all episodes will be covered due to me either not finding a way to fit in Y/n or not seeing them as important. This may also cause some chapters to be way shorter then others. With that said I hope you all enjoy this chapter

So far team avatar has had some small adventures and encounters with locals. One such encounter being with an earthbending boy named Haru. They helped free him and his father from the fire nation prison that kept and outlawed earthbenders. Unfortunately katara also lost her necklace in the process. 

On this day team avatar is seen flying through the sky still on their journey to the south pole. The flight is peaceful and calm with each member of team avatar doing something. Anne is having a small rest with her eyes closed in a relaxed state, Sokka is whittling a piece of wood, Y/n is sketching in his sketchpad and Katara is looking down at the clouds. 

Katara: "Those clouds look so soft don't they? Like you could just jump down and you'd land in a big, soft, cottony heap"

Sokka: "Maybe you should give it a try?"

Katara: Sarcastically "Your hilarious"

Anne: "I'll try it!"

She jummed off Appa falling through the clouds below with the others looking over the side for her. A moment later she returned to the saddle dripping wet. 

Anne: "Turns out, clouds are made of water"

Drying herself with air bending Katara looked out seeing a large black mark standing out from the green lush trees around. Landing to take a better look they would see how the ground was almost completely ash while only blackened tree stumps remain from what seemed to be a forest. 

Sokka: "Listen. It's so quiet. There's no life anywhere"

Anne looked around sadly with Y/n which Katara noticed 

Katara: "Anne, Y/n, are you okay?"

Sokka: having found fire nation tracks "Fire nation! Those evil savages make me sick. They have no respect for-"

Katara: "Shhh" she pointed to Anne and Y/n

Sokka: "Oh, Y/n I didn't mean"

Katara: "Shhh!"

Anne goes to her knees picking up some ash letting it fall though her fingers. 

Anne: "Why would anyone do this? How could I let this happen"

Y/n: "Fire nation... my people did this..."

Katara: "Anne, you didn't let this happen. It has nothing to do with you."

Anne: "Yes it does. It's the avatar's job to protect nature, but I don't know how to do my job"

Katara: "That's why were going to the north pole, to find you and Y/n a teacher"

Anne: "Yeah. A waterbending teacher. But there's no one who can teach em how to be the avatar. Monk Gyatsu said that avatar Roku would help me."

Y/n: "The previous avatar?"

Sokka: "he died over a hundred years ago. How are you supposed to talk to him?"

Anne: "I don't know"

Cinder landed on Y/n's shoulder gently pecking at him with something in her beak. Opening his hand she dropped what she was holding showing it was an acorn.
