Naruto: Legacy of the Sand

Chapter 1: A New Family

It has been five years since the end of the Third Great Ninja War and the defeat of the Nine-Tails. Unlike his original counterpart, Naruto Uzumaki has normal red hair instead of his regular yellow-blond. Naruto has green eyes, and Naruto has everyday life. He is neglected and mistreated by his family. His father, Minato, treats Naruto like an outcast and doesn't want anything to do with him. Naruto's twin brother, Menma, beats up Naruto and hurts names as a demon spawn or monster to make him weak and pathetic. Still, Kushina has looked after her sons equally and is currently five months pregnant, and all of the abutment and punishment are done behind her back. She would catch Menma beating up Naruto a few times, only to make Menma angry and want his brother gone.

One day while Minato is in the Hokage tower and Kushina is out to do shopping, Menma hatches an evil prank that would cause so much pain and embarrassment that it could get Naruto to leave because Menma has the Nine-Tails' chakra while Naruto only has the soul, Menma plan was to have a bucket of water above one of the door frames and it would be hot water then he would have tacked on the floor so they would hurt Naruto's feet but he couldn't find Naruto within the house as he didn't notice that their Mother has taken Naruto with her "Ugh...My only chance to be rid of him and he's not here...Fine I'll do my plan tonight but a different one." he said with a smirk on his lips as he just went to his room then he trashes his room so he could try and blame it on Naruto, a couple of hours later Kushina had returned with Naruto from the market and was welcomed by Menma who was just putting on an act letting their guard down, Kushina put Naruto down then she went into the kitchen to make dinner while both boys went to their rooms as Menma is trying to plan this carefully as Menma knew their father would be home soon so Menma summoned a simple log clone to help him to tie himself up with a smirk on his face he waited to hear the door open and once it did Naruto found his brother all tied up "Menma...What happened to you." he said worry for his brother's safety and try to untie him.

Menma started panicking and screaming, making both their parents run up the stairs to what they thought was Naruto, tying up his brother "NARUTO." Minato shouted as he went over to them and gently shoved Naruto out of the way. Then Kushina came up to them, "Naruto, please explain." Kushina said as Naruto started to panic and tears were about to come out. "I...I found him like this...I was trying to untie him." he said, but then Menma yelled, "No, you weren't. You tied me up and then trashed my room." he said. Then Kushina opened Menma's door and was shocked to see how much destruction had happened. She then turned to Naruto "Go to your room NOW! Naruto, you won't be getting dinner tonight now GO!." she said as Naruto's heart sank and tears streamed down his face, leaving Menma with an evil smirk on his lips, but he isn't done with his brother just yet, half an hour later Kushina felt down for yelling at Naruto and was about to get up and go see him but then Menma got in front of his Mother "Don't worry Mommy, I'll go get Naruto for you." he said playing up an act that even Minato noticed it but chooses not to do anything about it "Okay tell him that he can come down for dinner Menma." Kushina said, and Menma nodded and ran up the stairs with a dark smirk. Menma was going up there so he could beat up his brother and make sure he was so broken he would leave.

Naruto was sitting on his bed and was sighing when he heard someone running up the stairs. Then, he was surprised when Menma came in charge of him and started beating the living daylights out of Naruto, calling him hurt names and telling him that their Mother doesn't love him anymore and that she thinks he's a monster, even with Naruto begging and pleading his brother to stop Menma kept beating up Naruto "I always hated you Naruto, your too good, you're a weak excuse of a human being, we wished you were never born, to begin with." Menma said. Then he picked up Naruto and threw him to Naruto's desk table, and it was broken upon impact. With his dirty work done, Menma smirked, then patted himself to get the dust off and sweat off him. Once done, he returned downstairs to tell the biggest lie. "Well, is Naruto coming down, Menma?." Minato asked as he tried to hold back a smirk since he knew what Menma had done. "Why no father? He wishes to remain in his room without dinner," he said. Then Kushina felt something was off, but before she could check on Naruto, Menma spoke up. "Mother, could I have some more food, please?" he said, and then Kushina nodded. "Sure, I'll be right back," she said, then she went into the kitchen, back with Naruto. He was writing a letter for either his Granny Tsunade, his beloved Aunt Mikoto, or his real brother Sasuke, hoping to find his letter as he left it on his wrecked bed. Then he packed up his stuff and left his home outside his window.
