What is home?

A place? A people? A country? A language? A culture?

Is it a longing? A feeling? A hope? A journey? A religion?

Is home something you can grasp?

Where is home?

Is it where your family is? The house of your bloodline?

The town or city that bred you? The school that formed you?

The sports team that broke you? The church that adopted you?

The people who love you want you home.

But your mind and soul are calling you elsewhere.

You want safety. You want belonging.

You want to go where your Knowing leads you.

Home eludes you like the dream you desperately try to hold on to after waking.

You try to grasp it, keeping your eyes shut, arms extended into the black nothingness.

But all you can do is stare at the ceiling asking yourself of how to get it back.

The anxiety-induced insomnia prevents you from keeping sweet dreams for too long.

Some say home is where the heart is. But a heart can belong to more than one place.

What do you do when your heartstrings are being pulled in different directions?

You're both here and there, and at the same time nowhere.

The people are calling. No one can agree where you should go.

Loyalty and love tighten their noose around your body the further you pull away.

You're entrapped like a wild cheetah unable to run.

But you don't prowl in circles or swipe in your cage, hoping for an escape.

Have you accepted your fate?

The blanket of friendship and kingship keep you snug and secure.

It is cozy and warm, shielding you from the monsters of your nightmares.

In the morning you're rejuvenated. You're a flower blossoming under the sunlight.

Wouldn't it be nice to stay?

Opportunity and prosperity whisper in your ear, calling you to worlds of dreams and desires.

Responsibilities and promises call you with siren voices, pulling you into reality.

A devil and angel are on your shoulder. You're stuck in a labyrinth of demands and questions.

Following the voice of Knowing, Truth and Love is difficult in this tumultuous vortex of voices.

So you have to ask...

When is home?

Is it the now? The past? Or the future?

Are you inhabiting home, finding it in memories, or walking towards it?

Are you losing or finding home?

Who is home?

Is it you? Or is it God?

Your mom and dad? Your siblings? Your friends?

Your cat? Your teacher? Your priest? Your lover?

Is home a what, where, when or who?

Is home within you or outside of you?

Is home static or changing?

Is home ever one place?
